As of right now he’s not close to the recruiter Saban is.

He’s a very very smart guy. Great defensive mind. He’s not the complete package Saban was. His OC hires have been hit or Miss too.

He's bald and young. Saban is old and has a full head of hair.

They are nothing alike.

Newsflash.....There has never been a Nick Saban and there will never be another Nick Saban. He is the GOAT end of discussion.

Dave is into his first full year as a HC. Not lot sof data points. Nick processed Major Applewhite after '07.

No he isn't and there's zero evidence to prove it.

Offense? Defense?

Give me some concrete examples

No reason why Arkansas can't be that one when Pittman retires.

Defense. Dave's a defense guy like Nick. I'll give you two, if Dave was Bama's DC in '16 and '18 they would have two more natties.

Slow the roll. Good defensive coach, but Baylor offense sucks.

Not an example of anything.Its
nothing but a hypothetical and
speculation.

Did you watch the 2018 Bama/LSU game? Aranda was shredded by Bama.

Nobody slowed down that offense til Kirby in the SECCG.

Give me a concrete example about his X&O superiority over Saban.

I’m glad LSU didn’t hire him. Would really have been a splash hire.

About 99% of sports' discussion is hypotheticals. Your demand for "concrete examples" is unreasonable. You would have to normalize every other variable to truly compare the two. Not gonna happen.

Saban has no clue about how to defend the offenses of today other than just lineup better players. Dave does.

FTR, Bama '18 scored 29 pts on us with a decided ToP advantage. They scored 35 on UGA in the SECCG with a similar ToP disadvantage.

Good luck in the championship game but I'm not gonna spend more time responding to your requests.

Every fricking guy that wins a “big” bowl game or turns around a shitty program in one season is the next Nick Saban. Whenever a guy comes along turns a bad program around and holds the #1 ranking every season, plays in 85% of the National Championship Games and every time his team loses on the road the fans rush the field. There isn’t a next Nick Saban. shite what else does he need to do? Walk on water or turn the water he walked on into wine?

He didn’t hire his first OC with a Covid year in mind.

But he is on his 2nd OC in 2 years and hired Larry Fedora and Jorge Munoz.

I am big fan and would have loved him at LSU. Next Saban? Doubtful. Great coach? Absolutely.

There will never ever be the next Nick Saban. And the reason is because the culture of college football has changed to where the wealthy institutions will be able to recruit much better than the rest of the schools. I think going forward there will be 10 schools with parity and Baylor will not be one of them.

He doesn't seem personally miserable enough to be Saban.
