The SEC is going to get embarrassed in the playoffs. Texas is the only hope. They should have stuck with a 4 team playoff.

They need to go back to a BCS system but only factor in where teams are ranked at the end of the regular season. Beating a preseason top 10 team that finished unranked will count as beating an unranked team. Keep the committee to rank the teams and ignore the AP and Coaches (because they can vote just to screw teams up).

I don't know about that. The rest of the playoff teams are pretty unproven too.

#3 Texas, #4 PSU, #8 Miami, #9 SMU, #10 Indiana, #11 Boise State and #12 Clemson have

ZERO

wins against ranked opponents. 7 of the top 12 teams have yet to beat a team that is currently ranked this season.

Of the 5 remaining, you have UGA and Tennessee are from the SEC, Oregon and Ohio State from the Big 10 and Notre Dame.

If Texas beats A&M this week, that would knock A&M out of the top 25 and Notre Dame from the list of teams that have beaten a top 25 team.

Best way to determine which team is worthy of being ranked is by the numbers of 4* and 5* and high 3* on their roster. There are those that have failed big time are the teams with top talented roster that have lost to unranked teams and have more than 1 losses. Losing to unranked and those with a much less talented roster is a bad look and should not be ranked at all.

It's why I said they should go back to a BCS system in determining the top 4 based off postseason rankings.

It's all messed up and always will be because preseason rankings. If an unranked preseason team beats a preseason top 10 team they will fly up in the rankings but they don't lose the hype of that win if the team they beat ends up sucking. They will say not a quality win but never really take it away from them.

Bama will get in. You can bet on that.

This playoff is going to suck and if somehow Bama got in, it would make it a hell of a lot worse.

Saban used the "respect card" last season to give himself one last shot at a title.

Not sure why you are saying that this playoff will suck unless your team has already been eliminated.

12 teams will enter the bracket and only one of those teams will win the last game that they play.

Just make sure Auburn beats Alabama then all will be fine.

People hated the BCS but at least it was impartial and considered all the data. Humans have fricked this up, look at bama still ranked in playoff range

Are you talking about the same Texas that lost by 15 to Georgia in Austin?

Georgia's all time record against Oregon is 2-0

Georgia's all time record against Ohio State is 2-0

Georgia's all time record against Notre Dame is 3-0

I must have missed the memo about why Georgia should be shaking in fear.

Your team hasn’t played up to UGA standards this year. Even the second half in Austin would make some question whether it was a beat down as Dawgs fans claim. UGA was outscored in the second half.

23-0 at half is not game over in the SEC. Is this where I am supposed to say “baw” to fit in on the rant?

The human polls were still a big %, so I wouldn't say it was completely impartial.

That said, I've never understood why they dumped that system in favor of a committee. Human partiality is much less likely to play a part in a poll the size of the AP or coaches poll than on a small committee. They should have kept the BCS rankings and just expanded the # of teams.

Georgia played the toughest schedule in the country this season and is still headed to the SEC CG in spite of key injuries and setbacks.

At this time of the year, I wouldn't discount Georgia's capability of beating anyone in the country.

To say that Texas is the only hope is pure deflection.

They had Oregon beat

With a healthy freak of a running back named Ashton Jeantry. Dude is beat the hell up at this point in the season, battling multiple injuries, and his numbers show it. Don't get me wrong, the numbers still look, but he's not where he was despite playing weak Mountain West competition.

Against the Ducks he ran for 192, 3 tuddies, and averaged 7.7ypc.

Who said Texas is the only hope? The OP? Not something Texas fans believe. Not the ones that are in forums about longhorn football. This is a forum for people to try out for Stephen A. Smith’s job on ESPN.
