Why is Texas 1 they beat a depleted Mich team … personally I think they would lose 6 games in the sec this year …… Texas will lose to OU and UGA wait and see .
6 games? Even the lowest intelligence ranter won't agree with you on that.

Wishful thinking gooner, see you in Dallas.

Mich would . I don’t see them beating Bama UGA LSU OLE Miss OU, obviously Texas Missouri…. I think the way A@M looked this week with South Carolina having its starting qb they probably beat Mich . Mich is a shell of a team they were last year . I give Texas credit for winning on the road …. Just calling them a top 10-20 team is iffy .

Their offense is a work in progress, even a blind man can see that. Their defense on the other hand returned almost everyone from the Championship team, I think 9 players? They won't win the B1G, but they also aren't losing 5 more games.

The Texas schedule is weak with only two real games left - (1) OU and (2) Georgia. A&M could be a 3-4 loss team by the time of that game.

It really comes down to whether the soft schedule ultimately serves Texas well by playoff time or not.

Should NIU be ahead of ND since they beat them in South Bend?

In a poll that means nothing….congrats

Tell us about the FPI as well
I'll keep this in mind if you beat Bama and regain #1.

Or does the poll only mean something when you agree with it? I'm confused.

You are only relevant because Kirby used the Saban Buy Teams method.

Apparently if the Saban method is that easy, anybody can do it - like Pruitt at Tennessee.

No, Pruitt is true Alabaman. Born and inbred there.

He was far too stupid to pull off cheating on a Nick or Kirby level.

What a bunch of miserable whiners.

I guess I'm confused. For 20+ years we've been hearing that the SEC is the toughest conference, that "if that team had to play SEC road games they'd never be undefeated", etc etc. Literally for decades we've heard this.

Now apparently if Texas wins the SEC this year it's because we had a soft schedule?

Funny stuff!

I'm just pleased that Texas has such a weak schedule and doesn't have to endure "The Grind " like all the rest of the SEC must go through, twice as grinding for aggy of course.

It’s not a rag on Texas and there was no comment about winning the SEC. It’s an observation relative to the thread being about the AP poll and whether a schedule of this type best prepares playoff participants.

By the end of the year, it will be hard to argue that the Texas schedule isn’t soft, especially compared to the other newcomer, Oklahoma, a current top 15 team that won’t be in playoff contention based on their schedule.
