That was BOT members not boosters that were scared Saban would not make the move....Mal was instructed to offer the job to rich rod and he was smart enough to tell him "to think it over" which gave us time and also WV time to counter the offer which they did. Dr Witt and Mal wanted Saban the entire time and was willing to wait

This isn't actually consistent with what Moore has said about the matter.

And once again, Les Miles reeled off 10 win seasons back to back to back when he took over LSU.

So what? Les Miles and Nick Saban are two different coaches with two different philosophies on how to coach a team. When Saban left Baton Rouge after the '04 season he wasn't yet in his final form. He needed that experience as a head coach in the NFL to "level up" and max out his stats.

Les Miles on the other hand was in his final form.

Don't kid yourself.

He never had back to back 10 win seasons on the bayou in 5 years. He's had 13 in a row in TitleTown.

Alabama > LSU

LSU - mostly ethical

Alabama - psychotic asshat rednecks with no ethics or morals to speak of and alum willing to cheat their heirs to pay exorbitant amounts of money, cars, roommate cash, jobs for 5 star players...

to enjoy no competition in an AMATEUR sport played by their highly paid mercenary thugs

same formula THUGA is going all in for...

Nick Saban - he went where he had the best chance to never get caught doing what Nick Saban does, cheat like a M FCKR..

No thanks! For real, NO THANKS! Anything else is, in REALITY, a better way.. Nick will learn all of that shortly if there is an afterlife for such filth

CHEATING AIN'T WINNING

Did they sugarcoat his recruiting, or tell the truth about him running the filthiest program in NCAA history.

Without Mrs Terry, Mal Moore would have never got his foot in the door to talk to Nick. It was never about the money it was about coming home to college football.

Almost every successful man has a good woman behind him that helps guide him.

That being said, I am of the opinion that if Tim Tebow had signed with Alabama (he admitted he was torn and prayed over it) Alabama would have won enough to keep Shula a few more years and missed out on Saban.

Saban would have been successful almost anywhere he landed. Maybe not GOAT, but successful.

I have no doubt he would have had similar success at LSU. Thank the 8 pound baby Jesus for the Miami dolphins.

Terry probably missed college football more than Nick did. No one gives a shite about the coach's wife in the NFL (especially in a city like Miami) and she probably missed being more involved and in the limelight.

I don't think Saban went back to college because he realized how much he missed that level of football. I think he realized that his situation with the Dolphins likely wouldn't be very successful, even if he did a great job. He did not have a difference maker at QB and he was in the same division as New England.

If Saban had picked up Brees in 2006, the Dolphins go 13-3, and the likelihood of long term success is there, he stays in Miami.
