This is true, but the drop off from Vandy's 2nd WR to 3rd WR isn't the same as Ole Miss. Ole Miss has more depth at WR.

You mean 4? 3rd win in a row over Ole Miss happened last year in Oxford.

I'd take Ole Miss at -5 in this game. I think the game is something like Ole Miss 30 - Vandy 24.

I'm not going to bet on it cause OM is playing but if I was, I'd money line the hell out of Vandy... Home team underdog on a Thurs night ESPN game... I think the home squad has won like 66% of the time over the past decade.

I think it's going to be close...no idea of the outcome. The only scenario I just don't see happening is Vandy running away with it. It wouldn't surprise me to see OM come out and have a statement game, though. Also wouldn't surprise me to see us lose by one again.

FWIW, Vandy lost in this same scenario last year to USCe at home, and the advantage probably isn't all that great when it's the opening game.

i do think franklin learned from how they approached last year's USCe game, though... wouldn't surprise me if the come out more relaxed and confident... we'll see soon enough.

This is assuming Franklin's approach wasn't interrupted by the scandal.

The play ain't the game , it's the under...53. Both defenses are better than the offenses at this point in the season.

true... i felt a whole lot better about my VU prediction before the story broke. With that said, Franklin and his staff have had plenty of time to address it with the team... it's not like it's hitting a week before gametime. This story and who was involved (with the exception of Boyd) has been known about for a couple months now.

I dont see how anyone would "like" this line. You are either an OM homer, hate OM, or have a serious gambling problem if you bet on this game.

-Home team on Thursday nights covers A LOT
-Vandy has Ole Miss' number

Every reason to not bet Ole Miss...

Except...

-Ole Miss returns 19/22 starters and added a stellar recruiting class
-They have tons of momentum coming into this year
-Vandy has a gang rape distraction

I took a parlay of LSU -4.5 and Ole Miss money line

I like Ole Miss in this one, "and they cover the -3."

IMO they would cover if -5. I think they win at least by 6 or 7 and possibly as much as 10.

Vandy got royally screwed on a call at the end. I was talking to a buddy who is a SC fan last night and he agreed

Don't know how much OM's recruiting class will play into the first game, that is away and a conference game.

Vandy also has a lot of momentum.

I really think this game comes down to Bo Wallace more so than Austyn Carta-Samuels. I am also curious how the off field issues may affect Vandy.

Won't be surprised if this game is decided by a field goal.
