Did your mama really name you Lyle? If so, did she lose a bet or something?

Same. The names are utilitarian, I don't think they were really going for creativity or branding.

That's what I am thinking. Purple and Gold game. Red and Black (Or actually G-Day at Georgia, I think) ....I was surprised that I could not find a name for the LSU game.

Most programs? Ours is the Black and Gold Game, possibly because "V-Day" was already taken by both WWII and the ancient patron of romance.

It's a sad thing, not being to decided if we're fighters or lovers.

Ours was always the Orange & Blue Game but this year it was the Orange And Blue Debut.

I've always thought the Purple and Yellow Game was a neat moniker.

I'm all for trashing insignificant details that go on in our daily but this is literally the most idiotic thing to bitch about.

So y'all are cool with us referring to you as the Florida Debutantes this season?

A-day refers to Alabama or Auburn - pretty simple and obvious. On second thought, to someone that spells go with 5 letters instead of 2 probably has issues with the simple things anyway.

Alabama tradition. Been called A-day for so long, nobody knows when it started. Captains get honored with their names and hand and foot prints put in concrete at Denny Chimes each A-day.

I could care less what they call the game. But this would be cool to go look at one day. Derrick Thomas was a bad mofo in college; so I'd go over and read his plaque and show him some respect as not only our challenger but a great athlete.

It's the same in Champion's Plaza at the Box; with our greatest baseball players that ever were.

I think the tradition is cool whatever it's called.

Absolutely. It should be named "the spring practice prior to the season in which LSU will get their hopes up but get their arse kicked once again".

Rolls off the tongue.

Some of them are getting pretty run down with people walking on them all the time. I wish the University would at least seal them to try to preserve them.
