I think it's interesting that both LSU and aTm are improving so fast. It's like you have to envision Future LSU vs Future aTm for the final game.

I still think that Texas high school football has an issue with creating big, physical OL and DL. There are no doubt some really good ones, but it seems the hit percentage is lower than some other states.

It is so damn early that it's tough to tell if they are actually good or not.

They didn't really compete with Bama.

At least he's getting their losses out of the way early instead of giving them false hope with a 6-0 start like Sumlin

I thought he would get them right, I just didnt think it would happen this quickly.

He put up a good fight against Clemson and lost then got blown out against Alabama. I wouldn’t exactly say he got them right. 6-6 is staring them in the face. Sumlin managed to do better than that.

Actually looking at their schedule 5-7 is a lot more likely. Back to back 6 wins or less seasons for mighty Jimbo

A&M is always competitive in September.

My question was did Jimbo have enough talented players on his roster that would buy into his brand of football. It appears he has enough to field a solid team. Within 3 years A&M will challenge for 1st in the West.

Sounds like what people said the first year Sumlin was in charge.

Which is more of a reflection of the difference between Bama this year and last year, not A&M.

This.

It's not so much that Aggy is 14 points worse than last year. It's that Gump is much MUCH better on offense.

As for Jimbo, by year 3 at Aggy, he should have that team in serious playoff contention, if not next season.

I will admit, the team bought in way more than I expected. Considering the drastic change in coaching culture from Sumlin to Fisher, you would have thought a lot more players would have left the program or a little more disarray in the locker room. So far it's been extremely minimal.

Also, the Bama game is hard to really take anything from. Our guys didn't quit, but we are just no where near their talent level on the field. The secondary is way too slow. However, our front 7 has proven pretty stout against the run and that will bode well for us against a few teams.

Good point. The AAU like 7 on 7 coaching faction is screwing up Texas High School football.

Linemen are becoming an after thought.

The Texas High School Football Coaches Association needs to regain control or Texas high school football will be ruined.

I am for sure. It’ll be interesting to see if they can keep it up through October/November though. It’s a long season to go yet. Going out and grabbing that kid at TE was a masterful decision.

If Clemson is overrated then how overrated are Miami and Auburn?

No. Only LSU fans thought he sucked because y'all were mad he isnt at LSU.

We all knew he'd be a problem there. He gave up at FSU after the wife issues. He needed that new life

To me this has been the biggest difference to A&M since they been in the SEC...Wont amount to immediate wins but does start to turn a program around

Sumlin also did good his first season. I’m not saying Sumlin is in Fishers league but.....
