I also don't think you'd be whining about an LSU fan posting a GoFundMe link benefiting another LSU fan.

If an LSU fan posted a GoFundMe link I'd immediately state GoFundMe links aren't allowed.

Because y'all say I'm trolling this thread yet here you are attempting to troll me.

I'm out, hopefully y'all can all calm down and stop melting simply because someone said GoFundMe links weren't allowed.

Sidewalk Fan is the same guy that welched on pledge for a donation for a guy whose wife died, so it's not totally surprising that he'd troll a thread about the death of this young man. One might have considered that he simply made a bad decision to pledge for the donation and then welch on it, but to take the opportunity to troll in this thread shows it wasn't just a single case of a bad decision to welch, it shows that it's a pattern, which exhibits a total lack of moral character.

Actually that guy was using the good intentions of this board to fund his alcohol and drug addictions which is quite disgusting.

Its why there's a GoFundMe ban in the first place and I wholeheartedly support it, whether its an LSU or Alabama fan doing it.

Just too many opportunities for scams, as we've already seen.

As I've said, this cause appears to be worthy of support and is obviously legit but that wasn't apparent before OP edited his post.

Have a great Sunday everyone

Are you talking about Commander Data? His wife died and that was confirmed. What excuse do you have for trolling this thread?

Why help his family?

Was Ratliff the moneymaker for the family?

Maybe for funeral expenses, but nothing further

He's dead. Life goes on for others. No reason to be begging for handouts.

Because it’s a good thing to do and people want to do it.

His family didn’t make the GoFundMe, so they aren’t begging for anything.

Now, a question for you. Why post in this thread if this is all you have to add?

Dude, what the frick is wrong with you? If you don’t wanna give that’s fine but no need for saying shite like this. You don’t know his families financial situation.

And his family isn’t the one who set this up. Alabama’s basketball coach did.

So Kindly, frick off

Think about it this way,

This kid attemded every Alabama mens bball game the last few years. If he was able to do this, obviously as a college student, your family is not hurting for money.

Do not give your money yo go fund mes.

Go help your community by volunteering at Habitat for Humanity.

Why can’t I do both? If I want to drop a grand on a GoFundMe for a midget to get a tryout in the NBA, I’ll fricking do it, and it’s none of your fricking business. If you don’t want to donate, nobody gives a shite. Don’t tell me what to do with my money. What do you think about that, slack jaw?

You don’t have any proof of that. For the very epitome of the “Actually” meme, I’m surprised you went that route.

You welched. Own it.

This is horrible

Looking at his mom’s twitter, she and another son (with autism) had recently gotten their vaccines. Luke was probably just weeks away from getting his.

Unbelievable. Prayers for the family

Other than being overweight, does anyone know what comorbidities Luke had?

No, but I believe he had some general issues.

Not a comorbidity, but for example, he was color blind, and some students had raised money for him to get some special EnChroma glasses a year or so ago.

Twitter link

He had also previously commented about some mental health issues that he was going through.

quote:

But to understand why Ratliff puts an immense amount of time and effort into building the brand of Alabama basketball, you have to understand what Alabama basketball did for him.

During that aforementioned freshman year of his, Ratliff battled things most first-year college students experience and are maybe scared or hesitant to admit — anxiety, homesickness, panic attacks, and other mental health issues.

Ratliff spent almost two months of that basketball season living in his car. He struggled to go to class on a consistent basis, shutting off the outside world except for Alabama basketball.

“I had a really tough living situation,” Ratliff said. “So I slept in my car. I did not want to be anywhere else. I did not want to go to my room or do anything. I just shut down. I needed something I could look forward to and basketball was that release for me. I could get away. It meant so much to me.”

SI.com (old article)

Again, nothing specific, but it all sort of points to the possibility of some other underlying challenges that may have contributed.

BTW, as of this writing, the GoFundMe is up to $49,450.
