90,000 people will be at TAMU. The home of the 12th man and all of that.. even though Mizzou has beat them 2 years in a row, everyone felt TAMU-FLA was going to get the game.
Mizzou broke some kind of gameday record (or so I was told) when it was there in 2010 for Oklahoma... so we did our part in showing up well when they chose us, hopefully they choose us again sometime.

Mizzou has a lot of similarities program wise to South Carolina in terms of resources and potential, perhaps a bit more.
A&M looks a lot like Florida in the '80s. The school with all the potential in the world and resources that somehow always seemed to have trouble living up to it. The question is if Sumlin can become A&M's Spurrier and no one knows.
I agree with the MU-SC comparison. I think the in state recruiting in Missouri has long been overlooked because its top players have left Missouri and spread out all over the country, so its been easy to overlook. They're tapping into that now and it is going to help immensely.
My deal with TAMU is the same one I have with any technical school... I just think its harder year in and year out to have the type of identity a state school can have (Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma, Florida, Nebraska ect). I think its a little bit of a weird school with their military emphasis, a lot of males, and its a tough school... I think its harder to compete with the traditional state sponsored schools when you are like that. But its amazing to think about all that talent in Texas and an SEC school in the state, the potential is unlimited.

Not sure if I'd trade gameday for a night game but at least Mizzou got that.

Yeah, very true. Gameday is a nice honor, but I'm very glad this is a night game.

It doesn't really matter. Kyle Field is Mizzou's home away from home. They can't beat us in Columbia nor College Station.
we'll always have our 73-0 win over you though

Likely waiting to come to CoMo in a month when Bama rolls into town and we're both undefeated.

Military emphasis tends to play well in a traditionally conservative state such as Texas.
And as far as "a lot of males," don't believe the message board mudslinging. There are more females at A&M than males, and the pickings are very good, I must say.

Cause TAMU/Florida is a cross division game.

Well, clearly that's not the reason ESPN chose A&M over Mizzou.

I wouldn't look at it as a slap.
This is probably true due to the fact the SEC wanted the Aggies to syphon more college recruits out of Texas. More than they already did before the expansion. Pretty soon, the SEC will be in control of three of the most productive recruiting areas in the NCAA, Florida, the South East and now Texas.
I like to look at it more from the point that it all just lined up for Mizzou after they took the Aggies.
But I don't think thats why they picked C.S. over Mizzou. I think C.S. is a "bigger" atmosphere than Mizzou's probably in the respect of shear number of fans. Only they can tell you why they picked one over the other. But it's not the be all end all if they never come here....

A lot of the Mizzou fans seem to be slightly bitter about us getting gameday. I can somewhat understand that as UGA is ranked higher than UF and yall have been a better program over the last decade.
You do need to understand something. There have been two years worth of story lines leading up to Saturday. That is why we are getting Gameday. Its not because of numbers or markets or population. It is solely due to the fact that Saturday is the culmination of a lot of work and struggle to get A&M into the SEC and we happened to be playing one most storied programs in that conference.
Your school was selected because a 14th member was needed, but we paved the way for you.
Enjoy your night game because I sure will.

I think that had very little to do with anything.
when the SEC network arrives, I think you will then understand why the SEC took A&M.

ESPN made a choice. It's not like there were a lot of better options this weekend.
Don't flatter yourselves too much, Aggy.

The roots of A&M may be in a technical, all male, military base but that really doesn't have much to do with the school now. A&M has massive business and liberal arts colleges for instance. There are also "athlete majors" at A&M that nullify a lot of the difficulty for the folks that would struggle trying to get a Petroleum Engineering degree. We are also a Flagship University in Texas with a massive System and brand, though to the outside folks may assume that the folks in Austin hold those cards alone.
It's really hard to put A&M in a category to compare it to other schools, probably the closest would be Virginia Tech which is the only other Senior ROTC school that now only has a small percentage of students actually in ROTC but A&M is so much bigger than VT with so many more resources that doesn't really work either. Also there is a big gap academically between VT and UVA whereas A&M is very close academically to Texas. In the SEC the best comparison for A&M would be Florida.
