It's an sec opener for both teams and it seems like Georgia-Mizzou is gonna be the better game.

This is in no way intended to be a flame. Just legit curiosity.

no reason why they should have chosen A&M except for that its the first SEC game in Texas and you have 3 of the top 15 media markets there. thats the only thing i can think of.

IMO its a matchup between 2 teams that will probably have 12-13 combined losses by the end of the year.

I agree. It should have gone to mizzou. We know UGA is better than UF (at least rankings wise), and we know mizzou looked pretty good last week where as we don't really know what A&M will look like. Plus that game has bigger implications for the East race.

What do you think the atmosphere will be like in Kansas City, or Columbia, or wherever they play up there above the Mason Dixon Line? Gameday isn't always about the match-up with the most implications......

Could be huge for ATL invite.

Mizzou would have 40k of their jersey wearing fans show up for the show and then stay for the game.

Mizzou turnout would be excellent. I think gameday made a mistake here, but A&M will show up too. I'm betting that it has everything to do with A&M "traditions".

I'd say because aTm looks to have a bigger chance to upset Florida and they were the first team to join.

Who knows, there are no "can't miss" games this week.

It could of came down to costing ESPN less money by leaving the set in Texas all week, less money spent in fuel to relocate the set.

A&M-Florida is a bigger name than UGA-Mizzou

Mizzou has had Gameday at their school since ATM has. That could have been another factor. I also think the commercial shoot may ave had something to do with it. I think the Gameday folks had a good time.

UGA's schedule maybe. Only chance to bring gameday to them.

I think it has a lot to do with A&M being the first to join. Think about all the drama and crap we had to go through just to get here. That's why this game is such a big deal.

Mizzou, and this is not a flame, was picked out of necessity for a 14th team. I agree though that their game is the bigger matchup at least right now, but they did get the night game. Personally I would rather have a night game than gameday.

Population of Fl & Tx > Ga & Mo. May be in Columbia for the Bama game. Mo. has a decent chance at being undefeated at that point.

Kirk Herbstreit has always been a big fan of Kyle Field and A&M. That may have had some part in it, but at the same time as some one else said ... Markets in Texas/Florida far larger than markets in Missouri/Georgia, I am sure they are looking at what will have the most appeal.

From a "game" standpoint I think you can look at the odds set and see that both games are expected to be very good games. A&M 1.5 point favorite at home vs Mizzou 3.5 point underdog at home.

In spite of A & M’s lack or success over the years the Aggies have the following which makes them a good SEC fit and one that Gameday wants to be part of.
• National TV Appeal
• The State of Texas and a lot of college football fans
• Tradition
• A Passionate and knowledgeable Fan base
• A coveted program that brings SEC passion deep into the heart of Texas.

Missouri has had even less success than A & M and nobody really cares to watch the Tigers including their own "Fans".
• No National TV Appeal
• Little appeal to the fans even in the state of Missouri (KC has as many if not more Kansas and Kansas State Fans than they do Missouri and there are more Illinois Fans in St. Louis than there are Tiger Fans.
• Have no tradition whatsoever
• A weak and ignorant fan base.
• Are not a coveted program and are more Big 10ish or Missouri Valleyish than they are SEC worthy. Missouri was an afterthought that the SEC settled on and they will be treated as such.
