Was Tommy Tuberville likable?

Yes. The finger bullshite was annoying and embarrassingly immature but as a person, he was likable and really down to earth.

Had the opportunity to meet him when I was in high school and came away impressed.

Hell, he kept his phone number listed in the phone book for Christ's sake.

Spurrier. Hell of a coach but a petty individual, IMO.

I grew up on Shug, Bear, Dye, and Vince. Coaches who always praised and spoke highly of their opponents. Spurrier did not fit that mold by any measure.
I remember years ago a recruit had picked another school over Florida.

Before announcing publicly he gave Spurrier the courtesy of calling to inform him personally. Spurrier hung up on the kid.

It was in the papers. Any of you Florida folks remember that kid's name?

Wrong. Most liked coach by players in SEC

You got some sort of source on Les being the "most liked coach by players in the SEC"? Just curious where you pulled that from.

Same. Although I was a bit too young during Spurrier's prime, hearing all the stories made me dislike him. The icing on the cake was seeing him quit on his team at SC.

If there was a "best person that coached football" thread, Shug Jordan would be at the top of the list.

Gary Pinkel "almost" shook my hand at a Mizzou Tigers QB Club booster meeting in 2013. He was called away by a sports reporter guy from KOMU. Nothing like a guy walking away from a booster handshake ! I still love M I Z Z O U though !

True American hero. Sadly, many don't know his story.

Phillip Fulmer
Matt Canada
Rick Petino
Hugh Freeze
Tim Corbin
Kevin O’Sullivan
Urban Meyer
Boob Stoops
Bo Pelini

They’re all varying degrees of pricks and/or despicable human beings

Did you create an alt just to tell us you do not like Alabama

Some of you are pathetic and must have a real sad life.

Rick Trickett is a garbage human being. He fricked around and found out at a bar with my little brother in the mid 90's when he was a coach at Auburn. My nephew played for him at Florida State and hates the man. Shitty football coach as well.

I thought everyone loved him outside of the pettiest of Tennessee fans

People started liking him when he wasn’t beating all their teams like did at Florida. Spurrier was a smug a-hole in Gainesville. Plenty of people hated him. From all accounts he’s a good person in his personal life but he was a prick in his professional life. It just became funny when you didn’t have to worry about his teams beating you anymore because he has no filter when talking shite.
