Most people here were in favor of a 12 team playoff. Most here want it to expand to 16 teams.

Fans want 16 teams because the universe demands yin and yang over chaos.

There should be no byes. It should be 8 games, 4 games, semifinals and finals. FCS has been doing it for decades. 16 teams will play 1 extra game, 8 teams will play 2. Then ... it's back, after a two week break, to 4 teams in the finals.

105 is the new roster limit. Depth increases, transfer portal picks up, more teams are given a chance.

This is as much an equity play as it is a money play. It's also one step closer to abolishing the NCAA toothless bloodsucking woke DEI corruption.

The old systems were inequitable (sic) which is why the same old same old kept happening.

There is room for a deeper, more intelligent and knowledgeable discussion of the history of choosing national champions in college football ... but this is probably not the thread for that discussion.

Alabama is deeply rooted in the historical perspective for a few different and pertinent reasons.

You don’t believe most years we could have just used a BCS 1 vs 2 and crowned a champion? And in the years that had a little controversy about who was number 2 we could have just had 2 vs 3 for the right to play 1?

I keep forgetting you view football like an accountant that doesn’t understand the game.

Really? I don't know that everyone in the top 12 is that - in fact, MAYBE only the top four. Maybe

Whjy not just do a play in round with the 9-16 seeds. the 4 winners are the 9-12 seed. Easy solution.

This is a good question on its own. Does it help for me to say, Vandy could beat Miami too?

Depends on where the games would be played.

Road games in general were much harder this season in the SEC.

Maybe the committee will look at several teams and take into account where they lost.

Tennessee lost both games on the road
Georgia lost both games on the road
Bama lost all three on the road
Ol' Miss lost two on the road

Because they overlooked them and penciled them in as wins.

How come Alabama beat Missouri 34-0 and LSU 42-13?
