What's the most you've felt.

For me:

1993 Sugar Bowl: Bama vs Miami
2009 SEC CG: Bama vs UF
2012 BCS NCG: Bama vs LSU
2017 CFP NCG: Bama vs Clemson

Bama was 3-1 in those games. Hoping for the best, but the freshness of tOSU and lack of depth in film for the Buckeyes is concerning for a team culture designed to win based on talent as much as PReP and study for the game itself.

I feel good, but not certain for this game. I'd call it 52-35 Bama, but it could be a last team with the ball, 45 points might not be enough type of game

There's excitement which I always feel before any Bama game. And then there's anxiety which if you think about it is just fear. It's a fricking football game. It's not like I'll lose my job, a limb or a life. Why get that worked up over something you absolutely zero control over?

Every year the iron bowl causes me anxiety.

National title games don't for the most part since I know we are gonna win. Clemson was a shocker but the others, I never thought for one second we would lose.
I don't think for a second we lose to Ohio state. Honestly, I don't see it being within 20 points. Bama did everything but kneel on the ball every play against Notre dame and still won comfortably.

That 2009 seccg was the most anxious I've probably ever been lately. The tension in the air that night was incredible. Never saw that much press ever at a college game.

2013 Alabama @ AU (Kick Six)

I was nervous as hell going into that game. I wanted it bad. Playing in that shite hole for a chance to three-peat. I knew it would be hell, and it was. We bumbled our way through that game till the bitter end. Frick, it still makes me sick to think about it.

Almost 60 months deployed in multiple combat zones in a variety of combat roles between conventional and special operations forces, I'd argue anxiety is a sliding scale between life/death, mission completion/failure and any anticipation of wins/losses of your favorite team.

Its not either/or, but thanks for the semantics lesson and perspective.

In my experience, the very things you care about and have the LEAST control over actually cause the most anxiety.

Either way, the sun will rise and its just a game. But, can't say I wouldn't be disappointed if Bama comes up short.

God, I hope so. With only crossing the 50 once and an errant pass to Dylan Moses (says dislocated knee) for an INT.

Good question

2019 LSU/Bama-the streak had to end that day. Bama was like the villain in a horror movie.

2019 LSU/Texas-the first Big style 12 LSU football game. It took me a while to remind myself we'll probably keep responding. Years of every point and yard mattering had not trained me for this.

21-0 I wouldn't put on this list for 2 reasons. 1. We never at any point looked like we had a chance 2. There was still hope as a fan because that wasn't the last game that week. Which brings us to:

Saints at 49ers 2012 playoffs: This was an absolute nightmare. Could not get over the hump. 4 lead changes in the last 5 minutes. We would have hosted the giants in the NFC title game who were blew out 3-4 weeks earlier. They were hands down the best team not to make it to the conference title game and one of the best teams not to play in the Super Bowl. Definitely the worst week being a football fan in my life

I'm not going to break down every 2007 LSU game but there were a half dozen that season that were brutal. Florida, Kentucky, Auburn (3 weeks in a row), Bama, Arkansas, Ohio State

I’ve been to more bama games with more important people than your trailer park has burnt couch carcasses.

I’ll never forget how I got into the 85 iron bowl. Van tiffin wouldn’t kick without one al bell.

I don't get worked up for games like I used to anymore. Some of it is probably getting older and having a family to worry about, and some of it is doubtless the incredible amount of success we have had the past decade+. I was nervous as hell for the 2009 SECCG. That's also the only SECCG I've been able to attend in person. Awesome game and experience. I was nervous for the championship game that year. I was nervous for the GOTC. I was not nervous for that championship game. Even though 9-6 happened I thought it was pretty clear who the better team was. I was nervous for the 2012, 2013, and 2014 LSU games, though. I was not nervous for the 2013 Iron Bowl because I thought we were going to win easily - obviously I was wrong there. I was nervous for the 2014 Iron Bowl.

Honestly the last game I can remember being really, really nervous about was the 2015 Iron Bowl in JHS. I was there with my wife, who is not a native Alabamian, and as the fourth quarter was about to start and it was still a one-possession game she asked me if I was having a good time. I replied, "NO I'm not having a good time. I HATE this fricking game. It is too damn important for me to enjoy. I can only actually enjoy watching it when it is clear we are going to win."
