Not a problem. We have had quite a few "new" posters coming on here putting up crappy threads. A couple of them, though, seem to have learned their lesson and have put up a couple of good threads. BHM, though typically does a good job.
I understood your frustration.

Intuitively I think everyone had already surmised the gist of those stats. All I have to say is Bama better have the best defense in the playoffs because their offense sure isn't the best of the playoff teams.

Wasn't even frustration. Just posting on the rant and I'm a wiseass. It would be worse if it were us. But in that situation I wouldn't care. Genuinely happy for you guys.

I personally believe Bama should be the dog in this tournament.
A lot of people think this. Sure Vegas has them a very small favorite in the Sugar Bowl, but it's almost a pick'em according to Vegas. The CFP committee has them at #4 and the national "experts" seem to be picking Clemson early as well.
For example 7 of 9 CBS experts are picking Clemson.
5 of 7 SI experts are picking Clemson.

Where exactly did you get your stats? I'd like to see where Auburn ranks in there with those same stats for interest.

Bama has its work cut out for them. Still, Bama is lucky as frick to get in, so they're playing with house money.
The biggest thing Bama has going for it is that everyone is saying things like this. They will be plenty motivated. Whether that will be enough to beat some great competition remains to be seen but I'm cautiously optimistic.

If you were to include Auburn and Ohio State, here is where they would fit**
Yards Per Game Differential:
1. Oklahoma out-gaining opponents +146.3 yds/game
2. Clemson out-gaining opponents +134.6 yds/game
3. Georgia out-gaining opponents +126.6 yds/game
4. Ohio State out-gaining opponents +83.4 yds/game
5. Auburn out-gaining opponents +59.0 yds/game
6. Alabama out-gaining opponents +15.8 yds/game
Yards Per Play Differential:
1. Oklahoma out-gaining opponents +1.91 yds/play
2. Georgia out-gaining opponents +1.63 yds/play
3. Ohio State out-gaining opponents +1.37 yds/play
4. Clemson out-gaining opponents +1.01 yds/play
5. Alabama out-gaining opponents +0.96 yds/play
6. Auburn out-gaining opponents +0.66 yds/play
Points Per Game Differential:
1. Clemson out-scoring opponents +18.6 pts/game
2. Georgia out-scoring opponents +13.9 pts/game
3. Oklahoma out-scoring opponents +13.6 pts/game
4. Auburn out-scoring opponents +11.6 pts/game
5. Alabama out-scoring opponents +6.8 pts/game
6. Ohio St. out-scoring opponents +6.0 pts/game
Points Per Play Differential:
1. Clemson out-scoring opponents +0.237 pts/play
2. Georgia out-scoring opponents +0.209 pts/play
3. Oklahoma out-scoring opponents +0.193 pts/play
4. Auburn out-scoring opponents +0.167 pts/play
5. Alabama out-scoring opponents +0.111 pts/play
6. Ohio St. out-scoring opponents +0.091 pts/play
**Auburn's included opponents are ESPN Top 50 teams Alabama, Clemson, Georgia (2x), LSU, Miss. St., Missouri, and Texas A&M
**Ohio St's included opponents are ESPN FPI Top 50 teams Penn State, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Michigan St., and Indiana.
I will say Auburn's overall strength of opponents included is way ahead of the other teams since they played four games against the Top 4 teams.

Didn’t you do a similar run down based on records, Conference Championship, and some other sort of listed criteria where you listed OSU ahead of Bama in every category as far as who would be in the playoff?
Or was that some other Bama hater?

This is only against top 50 FPI. Now show us where Syracuse out scored and out yarded Clemson in every stat category. Same for OU against Iowa St. These stats mean almost nothing.

New here, been lurking for a couple weeks. This is an interesting breakdown. It's hard to compare these two teams just based on being polar opposites as far as the way they play the game. The conference are completely different. As a Sooner fan, a few things that concern me...
The long wait to play the game. Does this offense come out sluggish? I've felt,in the past that it took our offense at least a quarter to get going in some of the bowl games. Last year, Lincoln Riley made some changes as to the way the offense practiced and against Auburn we seemed pretty sharp early. I am in no way comparing last years Auburn team to this years Goergia team.
If Uga gets in our recievers faces and jam them at the line, how well do the OU recievers got off of press coverage? This again could throw off the timing of the offense.
Defensively, our middle linebacker is a true freshman. I thinks he's had a really good year and has gotten better throughout the year. I think he is going to have to have a great game for OU to win. He is going to have to be keyed in and diagnose plays quickly and be physical at the point of attack.
There's more to this game, but after lurking for a couple weeks these are a few topics that I haven't seen talked about. I'm not here to troll, just looking for a good conversation about this game.

Analyzing the 4 CF Playoff Teams
Here are the Offensive Statistics:
Offensive Yards/Game:
1. Oklahoma 575.8 yards
2. Georgia 426.6 yards
3. Clemson 418.2 yards
4. Alabama 336.2 yards
Offensive Yards/Play:
1. Oklahoma 8.20 yards
2. Georgia 6.42 yards
3. Alabama 5.49 yards
4. Clemson 5.32 yards
Points Per Game
1. Oklahoma 42.4 points
2. Clemson 31.9 points
3. Georgia 30.1 points
4. Alabama 24.0 points
Points Per Play
1. Oklahoma 0.604 points
2. Georgia 0.454 points
3. Clemson 0.406 points
4. Alabama 0.392 points
Factually incorrect. Bama is not averaging 24.0 points per game. In fact, we scored 24 points twice and UNDER 24 only 1 time (14 pts against Auburn). We are averaging 39.1 pts/game overall. Where are you getting your statistics from?
Edit: Ah, against top 50 opponents only? I'm not sure that's truly reflective. Example: A team can have a great defense, a crappy offense, and not be ranked in the top 50 overall. This is for any team, not just Bama's opponents. And conversely, the same holds true for offensive statistics. IMHO, this is a case where numbers probably don't mean as much as you think they do.

How a team performs against its toughest opponents is far more meaningful than how it performed against Little Sisters of the Poor. Clemson's stats are included from 10 of their 13 games played this season, all against teams ranked in the FPI Top 37.
