If his last name wasn’t Manning, how highly ranked would he have been?

Freshman could not play when Archie arrived.
Peyton was tied for 2nd with the A&M transfer behind a guy that got hurt.
Eli didn't start until the bowl game of his freshman year

ETA - remembered the transfer name with Peyton - Brandon Stewart. Also, Eli redshirt his first year.

Milroe is a sophomore and most likely not NFL caliber

Had this discussion on the Bama rant. Consensus is, and I concur, that either Milroe continues to develop and is an NFL (AR15 type) project leaving next year, or he is passed up by younger talent who gives a better chance to win through their own development. Saw it with Tua and Hurts, saban will play the best fit for the team.

If Milroe wins the job until he is a senior, it's because he remains the best option for production and team support. If so, the junior QBs who don't want to wait and develop against good competition can and should transfer out. Nothing wrong with it these days, and I'd wish him the best.

Everything I saw of him high school tape wise, he has a noodle arm.

If his name was Arch Jones he’d be a 2 star riding the pine at Nichols State

Ah, I see you are an internet keyboard football player analyst.

I guess all the professional analyst and coaches at Bama, Georgia, Clemson, LSU that offered Arch a scholarship just simply overlooked this "noodle arm" you expertly claimed from your couch in your doublewide trailer.

Got it!

If his name was ManBearSharkReb he would be sitting in his doublewide trailer home posting on SEC Rant.

If he was truly good, Ole Miss would have done whatever it took to land him.

We didn’t, because he isn’t
Good point. Only loser coaches would've bothered to recruit this kid.

I mean, what the hell have Nick Saban and Kirby Smart ever won in this sport?

All the major outlets are talking about it. Doubt Arch wants to be third string anywhere. He will definitely hit the portal.

Wanna bet?

There’s nothing that says Manning will transfer. Just speculation.

You mean the Gulf of Mexico! The hillbilly Mississippi 6th grade geography classes taught you wrong.

A few clumps of sand next to your doublewide trailer does not constitute a beach.

Yep. He's been electric in every down he's played.

Thanks for noticing.

The reality is both Nick Saban and Kirby Smart were trying to land Arch Manning.

I think enough of the ability of those two to evaluate talent that if both schools make an offer to that player, that player has talent.

I don't think either really gives a crap about his last name. We can question website rankings, but I don't question consensus between Smart and Saban on a recruit.

They just wanted a figure head for recruiting purposes. Likely never intended to allow him near the starting lineup.

Due to the history of OM and the Manning’s it would have been a political bloodbath to have a manning on the team riding the bench. It’s something our coaching staff evaluated and weren’t willing to deal with.
