Shitty coaching is to blame for this team's issues.

I'm grateful to the man for rebuilding our roster, but this is a poorly coached football team. No discipline. No fight. No beast mode when it matters. All that shite falls on the Head Football Coach.

Despite all the talk about QB and OL, it's kicking.

FG Made % 2025: 57.5
FG Made % 2024: 57.5

Historically, Auburn has only had one other year out of the last 15 that was under 70% made, and many years have been >80%.

This year and last we couldn't just make a safe play on 3rd and long in FG range, we had to take more risks to get closer, and often, we just had to go for it on 4th because we couldn't kick reliably.

Get a kicker up to Auburn historical norms (and Alex Mcpherson was on pace to become our greatest kicker ever before he got sick and had half of his intestines removed) and Auburn wins probably 3 more games last year and two of the four this year.

A competent head coach.

Hugh Freeze had one good season (2nd place in the SEC west) because he bought a bunch of good players. This got him a show cause and Ole Miss put on probation. At Liberty he only had one double digit win season (10) out of 4 seasons. The guy who took over for him had 13 wins with his roster in year one.

He is not fit to be an SEC coach. His finishes in the western division: 5th, 5th, 3rd, 2nd, 7th, 5th. In the new format he finished 13th last year and will likely finish near the bottom again this year.

Auburn is in a bind. They have a good roster, a top ten talented roster. And a coach who is befuddled how to use it. If they get rid of Freeze the roster likely transfers. But if they keep him they will keep squandering all that talent.

Resiliency. The slightest bit of adversity and these guys fold like paper, usually when it counts most. That goes back to conditioning and also how they are responding to and emulating their coaches.

Coaching.

We have a douche canoe at head coach.

He was playing frickloads of golf in June while the other 15 coaches were studying film.

He is a terrible play caller and makes no in game or halftime adjustments.

He is less valuable than a used douchebag.

John L Smith’s warm piss would destroy Freeze’s offense.

Mike Shula could take a shite and those turds would be an upgrade from Member Guest.

A QB and competent offensive coaching.

Just look at the contrast between the offense and defense. Defense has the same talent as the offense with a competent staff and is giving up just under 18 pts/gm. That's a top 25 scoring defense. If the offense was just mediocre, the team has 1 or 2 losses at most.

How was kicker sick?

Crohn’s disease.

His GI tract was inflamed to the point where the large intestine had to be removed.

He went from about 160 to 90 pounds or so in 2024.

I worry that IF a kick was it be blocked, Alex could get hit so hard that they’d break him.

His weight looks up to probably 145-150 now.

Freeze was just trying to emulate the REC but found he wasn't as good at doing it without getting caught.

If Auburn’s offense doesn’t score at least 30 this weekend you definitely have a problem.

I think Brian Kelly can get you over the hump. He has a great winning percentage and said he won't try to do the southern accent thing. Just keep people off the scissor lefts and any rotating dance floors and your good.

This will be a rambling stream of consciousness, this is a very talented team on both sides of the ball. Freeze has done a fantastic job of building a quality roster, can’t deny that. Durkin is doing a really solid job with the defense, DB’s are a little shaky, but young. I think Arnold could be better, if he had better coaching. O line play is questionable, but I think the talent is there, I think it’s coaching. Some said out receivers can’t catch, only last game. They have been pretty good on balls that were at least in their zip code. RB’s, how the hell does your #1 back, team captain lose his job because of an injury and then leave the team?? Something stinks there. Lastly, Freeze is a whiney petulant crybaby. He single handedly lost the team/game vs. Georgia because he pouted the entire second half and the team just followed him off the cliff. Then…..then the fricker did it again against Missouri. Oh, and his play calling sucks arse. Offense looks great running scripted plays. Only when he starts calling them, offense looks like shite. Sorry……I need a drink now.
