You have arguably the biggest narcissist in college football as your HC. Hugh does not believe he or the playcalling are the problem. He never has and he never will.

O-line is below average. QB isn’t a natural passer that can read defenses and made quick decisions. RBs are average. Play calling and offensive scheme are below average.

Thus the inconsistent disaster we have witnessed.

Statistically, it’s borderline unfathomable how many close losses they’ve had.

For whatever reason the coaching and player leadership just isn’t there, and hasn’t been there for years.

Since both teams are incredibly shitty in close games it will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Negative gump rider. Auburn has deeper pockets than the gumps. We just have to work on getting the REC/SEC replay booth out of birmingham, moved to Nashville and Atlanta. Auburn will continue to win championships. Anyone with serious boosters in the NIL era can win championships. When Sabans talent leaves Deboner, you will see a definite drop with the gumps to boot.

From what I’m seeing, Auburn has the talent to be sitting at 7-0 and in the hunt for another championship season.

I don't necessarily agree with the assessment while fully acknowledging AU may be Bama's biggest challenge left given that talent, the environment and curse of VooDoo Hare.

That said, if you believe that, the answer is obvious.

Bar the man from whores and golf. Maybe, he will coach well again

Officiating Like it or not, a bad call cost us the OU game… to the point the conference had to make a rare, public apology. Whether people want to believe the call in the UGA game was a fumble or not, the vast majority of unbiased talking heads felt Auburn got screwed. Whether or not these calls were correct or not is not the point… the point is that every major game-changing call has gone against Auburn this season, and it very well has cost us at least 1-2 games. Imagine had we not just not been screwed, but what would be our record if we had been the unfair beneficiary of a bad call that went our way? At some point, these things average out.

Hahahah this is far better than what I expected to read in this thread. Despite the 150+ yards of penalties and double-digit allowed sacks per game, it was definitely the officials fault lol

I heard someone say this weekend, in 3 of Auburns 4 losses if the teams swapped QB’s Auburn would have one loss. He said Georgia would still be loss. Bottom line Auburn doesn’t have a play maker at Qb.

Coleman is going to be a problem at Texas A&M next year

The problem is Hugh's scheme though. I think he really needs a cerebral guy that's been in the system for 2+ years for it to work and he doesn't have that luxury.

On top of that, when things don't go Auburn's way in a game, rather than inspiring mental toughness Hugh whines and pouts and just displays horrible body language. He is not a great leader. Saban took a team to the playoffs with first year starter Jalen Milroe. Arnold is a knockoff version of Milroe but rather than tailor the offense to what he does well, he is trying to fit a square peg in a round hole and then bitching when Arnold doesn't do what he's not good at doing

Nothing except the QB. That's it. AU has dudes at WR, pretty good dudes at RB, a solid veteran O-line. (AU is last in sacks given up, but that's a bit misleading because Arnold holds onto the damn ball forever).

Defense plays lights out. There are so many dudes on that defense at all three levels. While they aren't perfect, they only give up 17 points, which is good enough to win if they had any offense at all.

So it's a combination of bad QB play and Freeze not knowing how to coach it out of Arnold (which may not be possible to be fair). The play calling hasn't been great and the offense looks discombobulated. The WR's are talented but their route running looks funky to me. I am tired of seeing Coleman run 15 yards, then come back 10 yards towards the LOS. It's so bizarre, like he doesn't trust Arnold to throw it beyond 5 yards accurately.

Good offensive coaching. It’s that simple. Freeze is what he is. He’s not getting better.

All trolling aside, what is missing from this Auburn team?

They don't know how to win. They can play it close with almost anyone. They have no idea how to get momentum back. Defense has shown that they can make plays to keep it alive but the offense can't respond. And sucking at kicking FGs has cost Auburn games. 18 of 33 in the last 2 years, and would probably have more attempts if they didn't miss so many.

TLDR: Can't score points.
