Also. Most of these teams lost nearly half their bowls. Suggesting that they were overrated. Feels good to be a Rebel

Everyone would have .500 record or better if it were not for the Big 12 teams and S. Carolina.

The win percentage ranking is weird...the two Mississippi schools are the best and the bottom four are all expansion teams.

Ole Miss- .657
Miss St- .611
Auburn- .579
Kentucky- .571
Vandy- .571
Alabama- .567
Georgia- .562
LSU- .511
Tennessee- .510
Florida- .500
Mizzou- .467
Texas A&M- .457
South Carolina- .368
Arkansas- .333

Find it funny that the newest 4 members if the conference represent the bottom 4 in winning percentage.

Eta- dammit. That's what I get for trying to do it on an iPad. Oh well

I think 3 of our bowl losses were to current SEC teams, so it'd look a lot better if you deduced that.

Ironically a majority of our bowl wins were probably against SEC teams

We prefer losing to the MAC, Big East, Indiana, etc....

Wrong, bowl games are supposed to produce relatively equal matchups. As such everyone's bowl win % SHOULD be ~.500 (which is why almost everyone is about at that number).

If you're higher than that means your team ends up in worse bowls than it deserves. Lower than that means your teams ends up in better bowls than it deserves.

The win %'s aren't correct for teams that have ties. Tie's are supposed to count as half a win for win %. It sound stupid but that's how it's done.

Thus 34-23-3 is actually 35.5 / 60 = .591

(and your number leaves out Alabama's vacated Cotton Bowl win, but whatever that only changes the % a little (.598 vs .591)

Tennessee has been in a strange situation for a long time when it comes to bowl games. We go bowling often (last few years excluded) but we've also tended to be paired with teams we had no business playing because we travel so well among other reasons. Back then, but even today pairing teams close in rank didn't matter (today you can see that outside of BCS/playoff games).

The worst though had to be getting slaughtered by Nebraska. Yes, Peyton was injured and yes
Nebraska was an all time good team that year but they dominated to the point of being humiliating when it happened.

Looking at other teams that bowl a lot, it appears many have the same or similar issues.
