I want to say time but if you don’t have any money, you’ll spend all your time working…unless you want to be homeless

Sure they took the safest route because they aren’t complete dumbasses. But if you ask the average American they would tell you that you are as good as dead if you hitchhike through thru Turkey and Russia
Hitchiking is actually a common way of traveling out there. I went to Kyrgyzstan once and lots of people hitchiked to get around, even locals.
I also know a buddy who rode his bicycle from the US all the way to Argentina and never encountered any problems at all.

I always wonder if, the second people jump, they think “what did I just do?” or if they’re still ok with the choice they made that they can’t undo.
I read something about Golden Gate Bridge jumpers. Apparently around 2% of them survive, and the ones that survive said they immediately regretted jumping

This feels like the biggest one to me. I saw a post the other day of some guy saying that he went to Idaho Falls on a Sunday and by the way it looked, he said there must be 100 million illegal immigrants in the country. Also legal and refugees.
Reliable source you got there. A guy who sized up the country’s entire illegal immigrant population from one day in Idaho falls
In all seriousness, I think blaming one’s shortcomings on a particular group of people is just not productive. If you can’t cut it in the US, that’s your fault. Educate yourself, work hard, make smart financial moves. Blaming others won’t get you anywhere.

and a return of 10% makes it a million in 14 years a return of 15% gets you there in a little over 9 years considering the AVERAGE rate of return of the stock market for the last 30 years is 10.5% you're intentionally low-balling the math
Maybe not. 7% is a historical average used for planning purposes. Banking on 10.5% average gains is unrealistic.

I don’t “cook” breakfast technically unless pouring cereal counts as cooking
