And yet the success Freeman has had this year outshines any season that Kelly has coached over the last 15 years - whether it be ND or LSU.

Freeman made the natty in his third year, Kelly did the same.
Time to see if Kelly's assessment was incorrect or if Notre Dame is still the same old Irish.

They won two NY6 games in a week - something they hadn’t done once in 30+ years. Trying to make it national title or bust is all about defending Grindin Brian and justifying him bailing and blaming it on not being able to win big games.

OSU absolutely killed themselves with penalties in the first half. Should’ve been up a minimum of 21-0 at halftime.

"I want to be in an environment where I have the resources to win a national championship," Kelly said.
We're about to find out if Notre Dame actually has it or not.
Perhaps Kelly was the problem, perhaps Freeman will have the same results.
We will see.

I'm just going off of what Kelly said.
He said he wanted to go somewhere where he could win a championship.
Folks like you changed that to "win a playoff game" or "compete for a championship" but he still said "win a championship".
We will see.
My brother in Christ, I will bet you any amount of money you want that LSU will not win a national title under Kelly in this format. Name your price, and I will meet it.
How many times do people have to tell you that the limiting factor of Kelly at ND was not the program (which Freeman has leveraged to his absolute advantage) but the coach.

Both made a national championship game in their third season, lets see if Freeman can actually win it.

You’re hoping ND loses so you can use it to defend Kelly.

You are saying there is not enough proof ND is better without Kelly? That’s an interesting take.

Want to bet that Freeman won't be down 4 touchdowns at halftime like KeLLLLLy was?

Yes.
How are they better?

There's nothing to "defend" him over.
He didn't believe Notre Dame had the resources to win a championship, we're about to find out if he was right or wrong.

You’re defending his reasoning for leaving ND.
Kelly couldn’t win the big game. Freeman starts winning big games and the narrative shifts to “yeah but let’s see if he can win it all. If he can’t, Kelly was right!”

Did you make your bet yet?
Should be easy money.

His reasoning for leaving Notre Dame is because he wanted to be able to win a national championship.
That was always the case, the narrative never shifted.

And Notre Dame is a game away while Kelly is 9-4 and winning the Texas Bowl. But ND’s ability to compete for a title was the problem - with their tradition of winning only 11 national titles.

Which he has not been able to achieve. Looks like it was BK, not ND.
