I'm glad to hear everyone is recovering. Unbelievable that they survived that head on hit. I know it doesn't seem it maybe, but how blessed are they???

Funky.. amazing video.

Just read the cover story in the Sports Illustrated about the T-Town tornado. It made me cry.

Terror, Tragedy And Hope In Tuscaloosa

I cried when I read about the family looking for the white dress to bury their daughter in. I was holding my 1 week old little girl at the time. Broke my heart.

The house where they found the white dress was where the daughter of one of my husband's employees lived.

She was one of the 3 who died.

She died with another girl and a boy, so I don't know if that was Danielle's parents or the other girl.

I don't know if she was buried in the white dress or not, they wanted to have an open casket but couldn't because of how bad her injuries were.

Flesh, great to hear that your folks are recovering.

I also have homeowners with Travelers and your dad is correct, they have been wonderful to deal with. Adjusters were at our house on Saturday after the storms and I had a check in hand by Thursday. Most all repairs have been completed and when I informed them that their adjusters were off by 5 squares on my roof, they didn't bat an eye before sending me another check to cover the overage. Some neighbors are still in a pissing contest with Alfa, State Farm, and USAA.

Hope yall continue to improve with each passing day.

Same here. I cried the entire time I read the article. Tuscaloosa is and will always be my home away from home. I lived there for 5 years of my life and that city holds some of the best memories that I will ever have.

My heart continues to ache for the city and everyone affected. I had a number of friends lose absolutely everything, while they were in their houses - but material things are replaceable. I am thankful to say that everyone I know made it out with scratches, broken bones, and bruises at the worst.

Even with the storm being 3 weeks ago - it still seems like a nightmare that we will all wake up from...if only that were true...

Get some Kleenex handy for this one. An 8 and 10 yr old brother and sister, along with their mother, were killed in the tornado in Concord (west of Birmingham and one of the areas first hit after the tornado left Tuscaloosa). Touching and heartbreaking all at the same time.

Coach Saban and Mrs. Terry unveiled their plan to rebuild a Holt neighborhood. They have a $50,000 donation through their Nick's Kids Foundation. The plan is to rebuild a 3/4 square mile area, which is about 30 homes. Construction on new homes has already started. When this project is concluded in a year, a new ball field will be built for the neighborhood kids.
