Chicken and Hummus Bowl: Cucumber, yellow bell pepper, Roma tomato, black olives, feta cheese, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes and roasted chicken with a big dollop of hummus served over a bed of miracle noodles, and finished with a drizzle of lemon dill olive oil.

drinking out of a straw

I don’t ever use a straw. Wife got me a Stanley for Christmas the same year she asked for one…a REAL STANLEY, not a knock off. Thank God I came through since she got me one

Great for going to kids events and keeps water cold. I don’t drink coffee out of mine- just water. Separate cup for coffee. I would have been just as happy with the $15 knock off, but I didn’t want to return a gift, so I kept it.

Daughter has a cup and a bottle for athletics. I told the family after the last bottle plpurchase that we were done buying mugs/jugs that nobody ever washes.
We were behind this family for my son's Junior Ring Ceremony (yes- not even a graduation). No air horns, but they squealed and carried on until that damn kid was back in his seat. So very obnoxious.

quote:

Graduation has become more than it should be. We celebrate graduating every grade now. My neighborhood is filled with graduation signs from every school. PreK, Kindergarten, 3rd grade intermediate school, 5th grade, 8th grade, 12th grade. Only one of those should use the word graduate.

To me, if it's the last stop (highest grade) offered at the school, it's a graduation. 5th Grade, 8th Grade, 12th Grade. My kids went to the same school from Pre-K - 8th Grade, and I wanted to totally skip Kindergarten graduation. They even made us order tiny caps/gowns, which is ridiculous since they have a set for 8th Grade Graduation. It obviously bothers me since I'm still talking about it days before my youngest daughter's 8th Grade Graduation

Josh has a good one for about $15. Kim Crawford is a good one. Nobillo is great in that price range. My go to is the $10 bottle of Cupcake.
My license was up for renewal last year, so I went ahead and got it. I didn't go out of my way to get it, and it was in the middle of my son getting his TIP/Permit/License, so I just made an extra appointment and got it done. I have a passport that's good until 2027, although I'm not 100% sure where it is.

I also don't think that having a Real ID is nearly as critical for roughly 50% of the population, but as usual, the media made such a big damn deal about it, so there's mass hysteria running up to the deadline. The fact that this has been 'in the works' for over 10 years is also a bit of a problem.
The outro of the original Layla- maybe it's more of a piano with guitar accompaniment, but it was the first one that came to mind.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Shouldn't the bigger story here be that YET AGAIN the legislature failed to reduce our income tax? Something that was promised to be done when the state approved Landry's tax swop earlier this year?

They were already reduced from 6% to 3% for anyone making over $50,000 annually. I’m not one to turn down another tax reduction, but let’s not pretend that most of us didn’t already get a 50% reduction in state income taxes.

Are there people really dumb enough to take the $4k over the annual $4.8k?

If they owe a bill going to collections and they can’t wait for the $400/month, or they ‘need’ it that down payment for a new car, rims, or a multitude of other bad decisions, sure.
After Easter lunch, Mom told me she didn’t want to do anything for Mother’s Day. I’m lucky enough to see Mom & Dad several days a week since my daughter walks to their house from school almost every day. They got new patio furniture that my brother and I chipped in on for Mother’s Day/Father’s Day, so no gifts needed delivering. I made brunch for my wife and children and drank champagne and wine for the rest of the afternoon. Damn good day all around.
Uncle John’s Bathroom Readers. That was my groomsman gifts back in 2006, along with a nice set of leather coasters. Simple, yet practical

Casual or formal?

Casual: Blind Tiger, Ki Mexico, Oyster Bar, Superior, El Patio, El Paso,

Formal: Chianti, Bella Fresca, Superior Steakhouse,

Just to name a few
Diocese of Shreveport (Duca’s former Diocese) is confirmed in 8th Grade, but Bishop Malone (our current Bishop) has made it a 2 year program, starting in 7th Grade. I think it’s excessive, but since my kids are in Catholic Schools, it wasn’t any extra work for me.

I've been enjoying the Sweet & Spicy G Hughes BBQ Sauce.

Saw this on the shelf and was wondering how it was? How's it tastes, etc.

G Hughes has a definite artificial sweetener aftertaste to me- it's pretty good, but my preference is the No Sugar Added Sweet Baby Rays. They have a regular, Sweet & Spicy and a Sweet & Smokey that are all pretty good.

The G Hughes Thai Chili Wing Sauce is AWESOME

I've been using a lot of the Garlic Parmesan Wing Sauce on chicken, meatballs, different pasta dishes. It's low carb and not real heavy. Great Value or BWW brands are both good. BWW has a spicy kick to it, but it's good.

It was a good watch. I kind of want to go back and watch the original now.

I just finished a re-watch of West Wing, so seeing Alan Alda from 20 years ago and then seeing him now with Parkinson's was a real shock. Good for him for making a cameo at 89 years old.
Used to be a Vietnamese place called Pho Kim  now called Pho L’Amour

Great Banh Mi, but the Pho and Pad Thai are average

The reason why anal cancer rates are increasing among older women remains unclear, but Robinson has a theory. “Most older women were beyond the recommended age for human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination when it first became widely available,” she explained.

Serious question- not trolling. Was anal cancer an issue before the HPV vaccine? I had honestly never heard of it until there was a vaccine to reduce the incidence of if. I’m not saying don’t get the vaccine- both of my kids have had it, so I’m definitely a believer, I had just beer heard of a al cancer before a few years ago. Maybe people just aren’t taking about it.

I’m trying to talk myself into it,

I bought a 2017 Jeep in 2021- my F-150 was a POS and the warranty ran out, so I got rid of it. We really just wanted a convertible SUV, not a mud rider or rock crawler. It’s great because the top over the front seat comes off easily in 2 pieces, but the new Broncos have a 3 piece top that will allow you to take the top off the front seat and the back seat.

If I was buying a Jeep now, I’d find one with the Sunrider electric top- it’s a soft top roof with a hard top frame. You can roll the windows down and open the top without having to remove anything.

Also, as fun as the Jeep has been, the top leaks- not every time it rains, and it may leak from a hard drizzle and not a monsoon, there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason sometimes. I really want to pull all the carpet out of mine and spray it with bed liner and put rubber mats over it to help with the water, but I haven’t pulled the trigger on that just yet.
