if you leave enough games early, you can be denied access to regular season tickets.

You do realize there are more students than seats in the student section, right?

This is all about saban wanting to control even more aspects of the football program.....plain and simple.

I'm fine with his control.

I think it's a generational thing.

The current crop of students doesn't know what it's like to actually go into a game against a cream puff and wonder whether or not you will be upset. When I was a freshman in college, I watched as winless Duke took a 14-13 lead over Alabama into the half. I also watched as an FIU team missing 19 starters took a 3-0 lead over Alabama into the second quarter. We were only up 10-3 at one point in the third quarter. And then, of course, I watched as Louisiana Monroe of all teams beat us 21-14 in 2007.

In the Shula era and that first year with Saban at the helm, we had a difficult time putting away cream puffs. Now it's 35-0 in the second quarter in many of these games. Students do have better things to do when it's 12:30 in the afternoon and they're sitting in the hot sun watching our second and third stringers play in a game that's 42-0 at the start of the third quarter.

While I agree with some of these measures, I also think the AD needs to stop scheduling teams like ULL and Arkansas State and perhaps schedule teams like Pittsburgh and North Carolina. Midtier teams from major conferences that might actually put up a fight for two or three quarters.

well, sure. I also realize that if I was paying tens of thousand of dollars for my kid to attend bama, I would not be happy if my son/daughter was punished for leaving a football game early too many times.

ETA which is just wrong

They aren't being denied access to games. They could still buy a ticket from another student or just a regular ticket.

There's nothing wrong with that. Students tickets are offered at a massive discount. It's a reward for students. There are more students than student seats.

Why not reward the student who's the best fan instead of just whoever can get their computer to load fast enough at 7am in late spring?

Those people actually paid a fair price for their ticket too while students get them for like $10.

Yeah that’s all students have to pay

what's not a good look is having 2/3rds of the student section empty at halftime for all but 1 or 2 home games every year. They have to try something new

Who cares what it looks like? Winning matters. I don't get the university regulating the kids who are paying thousands of dollars in tuition money, to watch a scholarship kid play football.

Those teams have no interest in getting mauled by Alabama. Blame the system. The bigger the playoff, the less important schedule strength is.

He/she's not being punished. Others are being rewarded. They are also paying tens of thousands of dollars and they are showing that they care more than your child does.

So because you leave a blow out earlier than others you care less?

The students getting the priority access to tickets are paying the same bills.

Yeah someone who stays during that cares enough to see what backups have potential or just really enjoys the game experience.

They need some type of restraint that doesn't unlock until the end of the game...like a rollercoaster.

It's certainly one way of showing it.

Will they be forced to date nonfamily members?

Right? My mind is boggled right now by people having a problem with this policy.

I agree that every ticket holder has a right to be as shitty of a fan as they want, but why can't the university encourage shitty fans to be better or replace shitty fans with good fans?

As I stated earlier, their objection is more toward their dislike of the institution than the policy. They'll bitch about anything Bama.

Rival fans hate anything Bama & Saban related. It's been this way for a decade.
