You mean a bunch of drunks puking on the sidewalks? Or getting robbed and shot after dark? You're right.

New Orleans is one of the jewels of the South

Was curious - so looked it up bham metro area is 1.15 mm or so.
Nola metro is in the 1.26 range so from a media market standpoint on the two cities alone your not talking too much diff -
In total state pop Alabama is ranked 24 LA ranked 25, So just from a pop comparison you really not talking too much diff. You would think that having an nfl team in bham, you would have some support from portions of eastern ms - not unlike saints having some southern ms support. So it’s really not that far of a stretch to say that they would have certain basic qualifications - then you come down to potential growth of market - new stadium and all that chit.
Personally hell yes I’d rather an nfl team be there than dropping two more teams in L.A once again. Or a 3rd shot for St. Louis. And damn would not want one anywhere in CA or the Pacific Northwest.
Give the south some more shite! Hell didn’t nascar build a bunch of tracks up north and other places?

Jewels of the country. FIFY. Love it or hate it despite the crime, corruption, smell, and debauchery it is one one of few great American cities that world travelers seek.

The more you know about what a scam having an NFL team is to the taxpayers, the less you want one for your hometown. An NFL-quality stadium is now priced at a minimum $1 billion. That “might” get you
20 years of loyalty from existing owners looking to relocate; and those owners are just in it for team value & not success. So in the end, you’ll probably have higher taxes, mediocre teams leading to half-empty stadiums. I’ll take CFB any day of the week over that.

Pro teams actually need the fan base to spend money as they can't rely on donors.
Buying a t-shirt and hat at Walmart and being "a really big Bama fan on tRant" doesn't get it for pro teams.
Let's be honest. 95% of the "big Bama fans" can't find Tuscaloosa on a map, much less spend money there.

Birmingham would support an NBA team better than some cities that already have one if given the chance

Mobile could not even keep bay bears

So does Georgia.

The Georgia dome game was bad enough. I had to sit through countless St. Jude & Wounded Warrior ads on the big screen.
Not to mention the vendors don't accept cash so I had to go buy water after my child was refused service for having cash.
It was like one big commercial.
