Idk having a top 5 pick at qb and not winning at minimum 8 games is a pretty big indictment against the coaching staff. now enter Graham Mertz

Penalty shows how stupid the coaches are and selfish the players are. Two players that might ever be on the same unit should never have the same number. It’s common sense, but ole UF is like, “ what’s the worsgg TV that could happen?”
You’ve been hitting the bourbon that hard already huh?

Being harder than Augusta seems like a major turn off to me.
I agree with you here. I just hate the Fazio, Rees Jones (who’s an absolute disgrace) school of protecting par. I think great courses are fun and forgiving for higher handicaps, yet challenging for good players

I’m not knocking squire by any means, but using an iphone picture to show metairie is not really showing the thoughtfulness and amazing green complexes like these
I get different strokes for different folks, but there isn’t a course in louisiana that is a true golden age course.. My argument is that squire is on amazing land for golf (about as good as you can get in Louisiana) and that the course doesn’t necessarily live up to the potential of the land. Meanwhile, MCC is dead flat, land locked on a 90 acre property, and has 18 great holes. Squire has some great holes don’t get me wrong, but it also has some painfully average holes as well.

That’s just not a reputable source lol, they have English Turn as a top 5 public. I’m also pretty sure that their prior rankings had the bluffs on it when it was closed down.

I know that their greens are near the end of their life at NOCC, and that they were going to have to shut down for a year to tear out the old grass and put new grass in. From what I understand, they probably could’ve had them last for another 2-3 years, which makes the timing of this suspicious. Also, if the price tag of this reno is as high as I’ve heard floating around, it’s a lot more than work on the greens.

You think the members at NOCC care about Metairie???
They definitely look down on MCC and view it as the backup plan country club for the people who won’t get into NOCC. Their membership definitely doesn’t like the fact that MCC has a better course and there’s a reason this renovation plan has been put on the fast track

Squire benefits from having such good land but Fazio is meh. MCC > Squire. It may be a hot take, but MCC does more with less. Meaning that it is literally below sea level (on dead flat land),and from top to bottom, has a way deeper collection of great golf holes compared to Squire. Squires got a great front 9 but the back is nothing special, with some pretty forgettable holes. I’m not saying Squire is not a bad course by any means, it’s just that for how good the land is, it could be better. More than anything, it’s an indictment on the Faz and how bad Louisiana golf is.

From what i understand they are doing a complete renovation in october. I’d have to imagine all of the recognition Metairie CC is getting nationally for restoring Raynors work isn’t sitting well for their membership. Anyways, does anyone know who they are hiring, or have specific details on the project.
