right, they look at the fact that no team has ever had a record as bad as Alabama and got in without winning a conference basketball tournament tournament with an auto bid...good luck breaking all those years of precedents

Do you want for me to prove to you that's not true or do you want to just go ahead and admit it?

1990 Kansas State (17-14)
1991 Villanova (16-14)
2001 Georgia (16-14)

Hell, Vanderbilt made it as a 9 seed last year at 19-15. That was last season. They didn't even go to Dayton. They weren't even on the bubble.

So, in conclusion, some of you need to pay attention to college basketball and stop being obtuse before you start saying things as if they are fact.

look up any words you idiots don't understand there...since I'm from Texas and actually educated

You should probably "look up" NCAA Tournament histories before lecturing people on things you clearly don't know shite about.

That is not true, but I don't have the will to prove you wrong.

It'll be nice to see the Horns in the field of the big dance while Alabama waits to see who they play in the NIT...along with Georgia.

Texas depleted as they have been, may just be enough to knock off the Kentucky Wildcats...if the predicted brackets hold.

So you admit you were wrong with your asinine point?

Cool, glad we could nip that in the bud.

I’d like to see them get in, but it’s hard to imagine a 15 loss team getting an at-large bid.

I've been saying for the past week they should be in even with a loss yesterday.... but yesterday's win helped. And more importantly, nearly every domino that had to fall for them to lock up a bid fell yesterday.

*Louisville lost
*Texas lost
*Syracuse lost
*Marquette lost
*Oklahoma St. lost
*Notre Dame lost
*Utah lost
*Baylor lost

The only bubble teams that won yesterday were Providence, Kansas State, UCLA, and Oregon.

Right now the field appears to be set barring a major upset in a conference tournament that could push out an at-large team.

Here's where we stand:

The Top 46 teams should get in without having to win their conference tournament. This is where I see it right now:

#40 Texas
#41 St. Mary's
#42 USC
#43 Alabama (Playing in Dayton)
#44 Oklahoma (Playing in Dayton)
#45 Louisville (Playing in Dayton)
#46 MTSU (Playing in Dayton)
-------------
#47 Syracuse (DONE)
#48 Marquette (DONE)
#49 Oklahoma State (DONE)
#50 Notre Dame (DONE)
#51 Arizona St. (DONE)
#52 Baylor (DONE)
#53 Oregon (STILL PLAYING)
#54 Penn State (DONE)
#55 Mississippi State (STILL PLAYING)
#56 Nebraska (DONE)
#57 Utah (DONE)
#58 Georgia (STILL PLAYING)
#59 Boise St. (DONE)
#60 LSU (DONE)

Again, barring an upset the field is likely already set. The "First 6 Out" are already done playing so no one is likely to insert themselves into the field.

Oregon has the best shot, but they play USC. If Oregon beats USC, I think you could possibly just see them flip-flop. I don't think the PAC 12 will get both of those teams in.

The only scenario in which Bama could fall out is if they look terrible today against Auburn.... get beat by 20 points or so.... and a team like Mississippi State or Georgia somehow pull off a miracle and win the SEC Tournament. That would be the most likely scenario for Bama to lose their spot.

If Nevada were to lose in the West Coast Conference Tournament, that would take away one other bid as well, but I think MTSU is the most likely to drop out, so Bama is still probably safe.

I dunno, that is a lot of words and numbers that seem to be well put together, but you aren't from Texas so coachcarter is probably still right on this one.

well gosh let me see...you are probably right and the guys that have done it all these years wrong.

~ Notre Dame is higher than Alabama...just gotta tell ya.
~ Oklahoma is gonna get their ticket punched before Alabama (higher ups that pay the $$$ want to see Young play).
~ Syracuse & Louisville are bigger basketball names and draws (that alone should scare Alabama in a tight pick situation).

It always amazes me when people will make wild claims in the hopes that no one will fact check them and just go with it.

In. The win today clinches it.

The bigger question after today: Auburn...first round upset victim? Yes or no.

Yep down year. Kentucky is young, Auburn is way over rated, Tenn is decent, Arky is trash. Lets see how many teams get the the Sweet 16.
