Texas A&M made state championship cups...come on, get it right...got to get it right...state FCS champs
it was verified by @djPREACHERman of da daisydukes
Wait a second, I thought Clemson modeled their program on Alabama and had nearly every Alabama coach in the world --- so...wouldn't all these corruption issues actually be coming from Alabama?

Just trying to see where it comes from initially.
Despite all the hoopla, I have heard that admins at Texas have contacted admins at LSU to see if they will trade basketball coaches...

Just heard an LSU radio guy saying Will Wade was talking about that the "strong offer" was simply a "strong scholarship package" and the "tilted towards the family" was a "great package of free seats for all home games" for the family.

Sounds good...put him back in...

I wonder how much weight will be given to Dickie V and other big timers this year speaking loudly, openly, publicly and often that the committee shouldn't put in any team with a .500 or lower record in their conference and start giving the smaller conference schools with great records an opportunity to get in and show that they are great as opposed to the mediocre major conference schools that people just hope may get hot again.

Before anything is said...it affects some SEC and Big 12 for sure and I'd love for Texas to be left out and some of our big donors to put together $12-15 million to get rid of Shaka Smart...he's the most worthless coach...I wouldn't let him coach a church league team.
1989? According your own baseball wikipedia page, you guys lost in the College Station regional that year.

whack! (1) Edelman was the best player...followed by (2) Brady...then (3) Hightower or Gilmore.

going to be funny in about 2 years when Southern Miss beats down Ole Miss and Mississippi State if given the chance with old Art Briles running a high powered offense...

if he hasn't already been hired out as a HC somewhere by then...
if dating was like recruiting --> we'd ALL need STD shots and pill packs...
I'll never get this last 10 minutes back --> maybe that will help me qualify sooner than later as a DIE-nasty
watch some TV besides the SEC Network
Growing up, I was the son of a coach...he was line coach then a D-coordinator and did it for over 20 years. He went into administration. I had heard many times growing up what a great coach my dad was, etc and asked him why he never took his own school and he said, "son when you are in charge and it's all on me, I can not hand anything off to anyone else when I know I'm going to be responsible for every result - I just couldn't manage delegating anything".

I later was a head coach for over 10 years and totally understood...I was at small universities and felt I had to control everything to make sure we were headed in the direction I wanted the program to go.
some of you guys live in a small bubble that only revolves around your school's team and might possibly skirt out into your conference...if the info is posted on here.

it's been documented many times that Venables has been asked to interview for HC positions MANY times (Kansas State did ask him to come interview this year...he was their first choice, but when he wouldn't interview and stated that he wouldn't leave even for his alma mater then they moved on to the North Dakota State coach), but has turned down the offers because he likes Clemson (it's been said in this thread for those of you that don't read)...he has a son playing HS ball (graduates in '20 that will play @ Clemson) and a son currently playing as a FR @ Clemson...that he wants to coach. he gets paid incredibly well and he enjoys his life, for any of us...the quality of our life can mean a lot more sometimes than the perceived power (and headaches) that go with the higher paycheck and title that go with a new job.

why in the world do you guys think that Dabo is going to leave Clemson, where he is THE MAN, the best ever there...and has already built a program that now compares comparably to Saban's -- to go to Alabama and follow up Saban where he has built a program where he's the best ever now? no matter what he would do there, he would be scrutinized and criticized as not being equal to Saban or "Bear" Bryant. Alabama fans are not like Clemson fans...that's why the job there is such a joy for those guys...it's a family atmosphere where they are not barraged constantly with nonsense despite their great success.

my 2 cents, which isn't worth enough to buy gum in a corner store now...Dabo will stay in Clemson until he's ready to shut it down. he can continue to build upon the things he's doing as long as he can maintain, enjoy, and not burn out.

Venables may leave one day for a HC job, but hey...why has Virginia Tech's DC Bud Foster never left there (24 yrs as the DC, 33 yrs total as defensive coach there at Virginia Tech) - long thought to be one of the best in college football...he's 59 now. Some people like doing their thing.
The talk about Smart missing the dance for the Longhorns more than in 5 years than Barnes did in 15...I could totally agree on that. He's disgusting as a coach! He's single-handedly turned the Horns basketball team into a mid-major with the way they recruit "VCU quality players" and play with no game plan at all. In every game that's close going into the final minutes, he looks clueless and players come out timeouts with nothing -- toss the ball around and around the perimeter mindlessly until the shot clock is down to nothing and you have a terrible shot (and have defenders draped all over you) then throw up a prayer all with bad shooters.

Shaka has coached his way out of a good job in Austin...despite his big buyout.
coming from a college coach...I know that kids DO NOT pick the school...they do pick the coach for their personality (their sales pitch)...what they are planning to do with them...how they do things...they meet the team members and have to like those guys (or girls, if a female team) but if a coach up and leaves then the entire fabric of the way that squad work and is built is totally changing (the teams DNA). the kid may not have a place any longer and the value that he/she may have signed on/agreed to bring to the team has totally been changed because the school changed the contract on the school's side.

that being said, I do think these kid's for that reason -- should be granted immediate release (essentially free agency) -- because there are constantly changes to the coaching staff and we never know who the staff member was that was used to "seduce" the player to the program.
it will be funny in a couple years when this game comes back and the Longhorns are again woodshedding A&M (we don't have a nice guy coach anymore that will call off the dogs scoring like a Mack Brown or anybody like him...think Stoops like blowouts against Texas) and there will be excuse after lame excuse about the reasons why it's happening...

keep saying it won't happen...you guys aren't any decision makers...ha ha

those folks on the hill are hearing it plenty that the game is wanted around the state high and low...the big money people...the people that matter...not us that are twiddling our keys in this chat room
cracks me up that little brother aggy we sent to the orphanage and he's butt hurt never thinks about anything but what it would be like to be a TEXAS LONGHORN and own the state forever.

as great as this recruiting class was for you guys...we have continued working and BANG dropped continued bombs and passed you farm boys on your tractors by again.

see you in the rearview mirror punks...

re: Bru McCoy to Tenner?

sounds like if USC releases McCoy from his LOI (no matter whether he's been in school 10 days or so)...he would more than more than likely get the waiver because USC (Lynn Swann, etc) are throwing themselves on the sword.

we'll just have to see how all this shakes out...this is an interesting time in the NCAA football for sure.
