Tommy Moffitt(3 NC Titles) has been the Director of Strength and Conditioning at LSU since 2000. Never have you heard LSU fans complain about their S & C coach being the blame for all their injuries throughout the years.

Scott Cochran (5 NC's) helped build the Bama Dynasty with Saban over the past 13 years. Now the guy is being blamed for all their injuries. Don't blame the DC's, OC's, or Saban getting out-coached. Truly Laughable!

quote:

After the Ole Miss discussions became public, Saban called Cochran in for a meeting and asked whether he really wanted to make the switch to an on-field job. When Cochran said he did, Saban told him he wouldn’t be comfortable hiring him as an on-field assistant at that point in time, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. The advice from Saban was that if Cochran wanted to become a special teams coach, he should start attending Alabama’s special teams meetings and invest time into learning the intricacies of the position. Cochran left the conversation upset and convinced he wouldn’t be getting an on-field opportunity at Alabama given he believed he had already spent a lot of time around special teams.

Though Saban didn't have trouble hiring a known alcoholic named Sarkisian to his staff.

You must admit that he looks much better in red than crimson.

You have to admit blaming injuries on conditioning is ridiculous

Especially since most of those casting stones can probably barely bench press 135 lbs

And for what it’s worth- I was in s&c for a bit. Worked with the Gators

Blaming all the injuries on Cochran is definitely ridiculous. I think a lot of folks were getting concerned that we were falling behind in the S&C game, but "he caused the injuries" isn't really part of it.

I do think that we hired 2 guys who specifically have a reputation for work that helps to prevent injuries, but that is a completely different discussion than "Cochran caused the injuries". Proof will be in the pudding though - we'll see.

A team loses ONE game against LSU and they are in demise?

I mean, just because that happened to your team almost 10 years ago =/= that's how it happens for everyone.

Reasonable request.

Makes him look like a bitch.

It's a minor miracle Saban ended up getting what is considered the pioneers of cutting edge sports science in the industry. Based on the response it was a major upgrade.

Cochran's 4th Quarter program is very 2009. And worked great in 2009. Unfortunately Alabama has recruited a different type of athlete from 10 years ago.
And I'm sure Bama players' ACLs thank them for the change.

Eh... only injury I suffered in college definitely happened in Alabama's weight room. 20 years later I still fail to see how clean and jerks were really gonna make me a better 400 IM swimmer. Those guys had no idea what the difference between me and someone who swam the 50 free was, physically speaking. Bigger was always better, regardless of what levels of lactic acid build up you'd encounter. You could tell they were there for football, and football only

That’s a bummer man, sorry you still deal with that. I know-ish Cochran though and am familiar with his program. They aren’t doing clean jerks, unless something changed in the last decade.

Saban is good at running off good coaches and players with his pompous arse attitude. What a shite heel!

Who knows Coach Coch could have been the answer to the special teams woes at Bama but only time will tell. The Uga kicking game has been a strength for years.
