Alabama is more of a basketball school than Tennessee

Alabama is currently ranked higher than Tennessee, but even recent history of the 2020s, and longer history suggest they’re not far apart and Bama actually has a much brighter future than Tennessee.
Tennessee won the SEC tourney in 2022 and lost in humiliating fashion in the second round
Bama won the sec tournament in 2021 and made it to the round of 16
Historically, the furthest either team made it in the NCAAT is the Elite Eight. So historically, for the long term, they are a wash.
Currently, this season, Bama has a slight edge being ranked higher and not having a loss to a mediocre Kentucky.
Past few years Bama has a slight edge having proven that Nate oats can make it past the second round.
Which brings us to the future. Nate oats is only 48 with a sky’s the limit type ceiling. First round Rick is 20 years older and his ceiling is maybe getting to the second round of the tournament with elite talent.
Rick Barnes is a prototypical Tennessee coach: the perpetual underachiever like Fat Phil and Cryin’ Tony V.
After an in depth analysis, it’s clear that Alabama basketball is far superior to Tennessee, and has. A much brighter future.

Neither one has made the Final Four.

Outside of Ernie and Bernie, VOLS dont have a outside bball history. Its not a secret. We have made a lot of strides since the mid 2000s when Bruce first got there.
Worry about your own program

I can’t take this post serious bc everyone knows Barnes is a regular season giant, struggles in the tourney.
Are we talking regular season, post season, or both?

All of that to say they are twin basketball programs. We’ve known this for years.

Tennessee fans insist they’re an elite basketball program
Bama fans do not, even though an argument can be made that Bama is a better basketball program currently and will be in the future

this thread is confusing and bad

Tennessee bball is elite tho. Elite defined as consistent. Consistency wins you a lot of bball games.

You're a terrible poster. That being said both programs are pretty equal
Tennessee has been more successful this century.
Alabama was more successful & had a nice run from the late 70s through the mid 90s.

Pat Head Summit would love to have a talk with you

So in other words you are saying you've never actually interacted or encountered an actual Tennessee fan? No Tennessee fan is under the allusion we are some historical men's basketball powerhouse. You've lost your mind with this assertion. Of course in the case of women's basketball, the University of Tennessee and Pat Summit essentially started the sport.
We do, however, have a decent lil thing going in men's basketball. As does Bammer. Whereas UGA basketball is booty cheeks per usual.

And have, historically, both been very solid and generally consistently above average programs who have against all odds never broken through in the postseason.
We're twins. All basketball fans of both programs know this as Capstone said above.

Agreed. It really is stunning exactly how similar we are when you stack our two men's basketball programs side by side. Historically our overall men's basketball achievements are damn near identical.
Looking forward to The Third Wednesday in February. Should be a doozy!

Same - should be a lot of fun. And it would be poetic justice if we both broke through to the Final Four in the same year, honestly.

Dude, a Tennessee-Bama Final Four or Natty clash would be iconically and epically unique. That would be such a fun arena to be in.

It's threads like this one cluttering the board why people leave. This thread is world class shite. The only redeeming quality is posters like SOG coming in and bringing it validity.
Still waiting on that ignore feature, Chicken.
