You guys are fricking high or wish casting if you think this isn’t a massive upgrade over William Inge, who was the supposed hire at that spot.
This is a great hire.
This is a great hire.

Brother, the bar must have been set really low. This dude is not a good coach.

Dude has worked for:
Mark Richt
Hugh Freeze
Dan Mullen
Bryan Harsin
Dave Aranda
Now DeBoer

He probably is an upgrade to the unheard-of guy but C Rob has been around the block and he didn't do anything for Auburn's linebackers or recruiting efforts, but he also had Harskins keeps the clamps down on the recruiting efforts to be fair to Robinson. Robinson is a young guy so you would think he could recruit well. Either way, as solid as he may be for Bama later on Deboer is firmly in the Husky Harsin camp now.

Yep. Inge hated Deboer so much that he took the same position with Heupel.

One of the softest UGA players I can remember watching in the last 15 years. Shawn Williams called him out for being a bitch prior to the 2012 WLOCP. I remember him whining a lot in general.

Looks like he did fine recruiting for Florida. Didn’t he coach Owen Pappoe? Pappoe was the highest drafted ILB for Auburn in almost 20 years.

February has not been kind to Auburn fans.

Bama will still beat 90% of the teams the clowns trying to bash their hires pull for.
I guess when you can't get your shots in DURING the season you have to do what you can in the off-season.

He was drafted on measurables that made him some 5* Sparq phenom landing on "freaks lists"
Look at Pappoe's actual Auburn career now.

Yeah, and Freak’s best season definitely didn’t come under Christian Robinson.

What am I missing? He was a 5th round draft pick

I don't think anyone's doubting Saban's recruits or the systems in place. It's more about what it looks like 2-4 years from now.

Apparently the 5* linebacker played like Jane at Auburn and still ended up being the highest drafted ILB at Auburn in two decades.

Well that's just pathetic.

Idk about his career, but the one season he was coached by Robinson, he was a Butkus Award Semi-Finalist on a team that had a losing record, and had 90+ tackles. Had a nice game against Bama that year too, IIRC.

He had his best statistical season in 2020. Not 2022.
He was pretty mediocre.
