I’m going to be honest that that article reads like a bunch of Bama fans that just happen to be coaches commenting on the hire.

If the south didn't have black athletes, that region wouldn't win isht in the sport.

I have covered a lot of high school football in my time. Met a lot of wonderful coaches who were very sharp and know their trade. Met some who are simply trying to prove their “leadership credentials” so they can get a cushy principal or superintendent job. Met some who range from cosplayers with delusions of grandeur to utter morons. The point is high school football coaches are not inherently or automatically oracles of all knowledge.

They probably slipped that one by him in all the paperwork.
“I’m sure he will need coach Saban to help him and kind of give him the lay of the land. To me, it’s just kind of surprising to go way out West to get a coach with no real background in this part of the country.”
Probably aren't bringing him in a wagon train, doubtless he'll use air travel of some type. What are the rules of college football in the south anyway - are they different than the NCAA rules all way out west?
