This game could turn out to be one of the best of the year. Oklahoma has the ability to stretch Alabama to their limits. Should be a great game.

Here is how to improve Bama offense:
1) Outside runs with speed
2) Shorter passes to slow blitz.
3) Run space plays into SPACE, not short side of field.
4) Tell Jam to run forward and stop dancing

You can’t run the ball if the running backs tip toe up to the line of scrimmage. One can conclude that the running backs are not very good or the coaching is not very well done or both are the problem. I see the problem is two fold issue.

We had an NFL QB and at least two NFL WRs last year. How'd that turn out?

Wow. Thanks for that brilliant analysis. Not only is it fresh, and no one is really talking about it but you really went into some laborious detail. I appreciate it.

We haven't been able to run the ball all season, and we are 8-1 against one of the toughest schedules in football. What you're saying sounds good in theory, but it has not played out in reality.

What has played out in reality is your schedule is not as tough as Oklahomas. You only scored 3 points on the OU defense last year. You lost to Jackson Arnold. And OU is 4 - 2 - 1 all time vs Alabama. At some point things start to become a trend.

Eh, OU's strength is their run defense. Bama struggles running against everyone, so it's not like that can get worse. The best offense they've faced is Ole Miss and lost that one. I think the Bama passing game makes enough plays to eke out a win.

Another Bama poster summed it up best yesterday... we are preparing for it like we prepare for a procedure at the dentist.

It’s not going to be fun but you will probably survive?

We're gonna have to rely on our defense heavily this weekend IMO.

Have you seen our offense? You guys will win with ease. Relax.

From what I'm seeing on tape of Simpson, I don't think there's a QB comparison to a year ago.

Actually, he's the most NFL-ready QB I've seen there yet.

How confident are Bama fans on winning vs Oklahoma ?

Are you guys confident your qb wins this one ?

Not confident at all. I mean its a home game which is good but we are one dimensional. I honestly think they are going to tell Simpson to run more this week.

Well, Oklahoma isn't running the wishbone anymore, and cheating Barry Switzer isn't walking through that door. It's funny you think the first season of a head coaches tenure with a quarterback who cannot throw is the Alabama standard.

Their stuff actually isn’t pass dominant. In 2023, if you take away Penick’s 11 sacks they ran the ball for four more plays than they threw it, 380 to 376, and they had a 1,200-yard rusher on the team. The running game is an essential part of their stuff, but their scheme depends on quickness rather than bulk in the OL.

Penix had over 550 pass attempts in 2023.

According to TeamRankings, 2023 Washington was #130 in rushing attempts per game.

Literally, all you have to defend is the quarterback draw. If this comes down to the kicking game, I think we win. If it comes down to turnovers its 60/40 in your favor.

He's good and fits the general scheme better. However, he's been cracking a bit the last few weeks and the run game situation really puts everything on his shoulders. He's handled it pretty well but he's missed some throws the last few weeks he was not missing earlier and for the first time since week 1 really showed some emotional frustration late in the LSU game.

But he's been great overall for us and even his bad games have still been pretty solid. The problem is he has to be very good for us to beat good teams because there isn't any help in the run game - at all.
