They show flashes of being a good team, but then go out and lay eggs like last night's second half. This team was never going to compete for the SEC Championship, but there's no excuse for last night.
I've said it a few years now - when his teams are shooting the ball well, Avery is a good coach. When they're not, he is just terrible. No defensive adjustments to try and get easy baskets, leaves certain players in the game that have terrible shot selection, no energy.

I saw the halftime score and thought it was definitely over. Check back later on and they lose. Pretty awful coaching job by Avery.
Blowing a 21 point halftime lead to Georgia State is pretty impressive.

I fear this going to be a God awfully ugly year for SEC basketball. It certainly has been up till now.

I would just like to see both AU and AL have good basketball at the same time.
I admit, I thought Avery was a big name and would do pretty well. But it seems the second half collapse is something the fans are getting used to now.

I loved watching Pearl coach that team. But unlike football, the SEC brand in basketball is meh this year, and them sucking hurts us too, I think.

It wasn't so much the collapse, but how they collapsed. Horrible shooting because they failed to adjust to Ga State's defensive halftime adjustments, same shitty players getting significant playing time, lazy defense, etc. In all of his bad losses since he got here, it's the same damn formula over and over. Throw in horrible free throw shooting, especially down the stretch.
