In our defense we are playing a lot better then most thought we would. This has the potential to be a sneaky good Arkansas team if they can keep the momentum going. We will see how things go once conference play starts.

I hope so. For a brief moment the other day, I saw the Arkansas posters sail. I hate to admit it, but I missed it.

I fear this going to be a God awfully ugly year for SEC basketball. It certainly has been up till now.

Started to pick up a little steam recently, then Bama loses to GA St. Not the end of the world, and UF beating WVU helps a lot.

3 games tonight the SEC should sweep - MTSU/Vandy, USC/Wyoming, Ark/CSU. Mizzou plays Oral Roberts Friday, a game they should win. Then we get to Saturday and yeah, a lot of games could go against us there. Just need to pickup the easy ones at least while you can.

Personally, they earned every bit of it so far.

Now, I dont know they keep it up, Joe the freshman is playing almost unconscious right now and so is their their JUCO guard...it's simply not a deep team at all though. If Gafford gets into any foul trouble they are done in the post basically and a team with any legit bigs could really expose them.

Again though, hard to argue with the results so far, very close loss to Texas, beat Indiana, destroyed everyone else. Colorado State tonight, and it's a road game. CSU isn't any good, but it will be interesting to see how they respond on the road.

Truer words were never spoken. Well if we only get 4 or 5 teams in the Big Dance this year hopefully they'll at least be really good teams.

That is a pretty ignorant statement as we don't really know how good Arkansas can be yet.

Not really, coming into the season y'all had more questions than most. You've got 2 guys playing lights out right now, but lack the depthand talent you normally have.

I'm not knocking y'all, because you've earned where you are up to this point. More lamenting how bad Vandy, Florida, TAMU and Bama are.

I 100% agree on the second part about the fact we are going to have issues this year when Gafford gets in foul trouble. I don't really know if I agree on the depth part...yet. While our starters are carrying a big part of the load on the offensive side, the players coming off the bench fit so much better as a whole. I still think Mike needs to do some tuning on the units because we can't really afford to have all our 4 or 5 starters on the bench at the same time. I'm really surprised at how well these players play half court defense when considering their age and how awful we have been at times even with Mike's best teams.

You don't have to tell me. I understand that but I think there is a world in which this team is in the top 5 of the SEC and the league is still good. A lot of things have to change and improve but I don't think that is a stretch. I said we were an NIT team and stand by it for now but they have surprised me so far.

I don't really know if that is true. The players as a whole fit what Mike's likes to do so much better than previous years. I don't remember Mike ever playing this many players this early in the season. Doesn't mean they will be better than those teams because they are still young.

I'm not trying to take it that way. I agree with your overall point about the league being down. Would be very hard to argue with that right now. I just think that there are so many questions still unanswered by this Arkansas team that to say anything definite about them would be a little ignorant and I'm saying that in regards to how bad or good they will be, I could see it still going either way at this point.

That's my perception, but I'm not sure if you're sarcastic or not. Pound for pound, the midwest have smart bball players more than the deep south does.

Avery is too buddy buddy with players and would rather be friends than disciplinarian.

I wonder if Avery over-corrected. When he was with the Mavs, Dirk and others went to management and had him ousted because he just grinded on them so hard and they all hated playing for him.
