In 1973, both Alabama and ND were undefeated and played in the Sugar Bowl.

ND beat Alabama 24-23 even though Alabama was a 6.5 point favorite.

The AP naturally proclaimed Alabama the national champ.

The REC has been doing it's dirty work for the better part of five decades now. It's a black eye on the sport.

What I don’t get is why you would want to show them any favoritism. Anyone who’s ever been to Alabama can see they’re nothing but a bunch of toothless sodomites

stay cool Alabama fans..

The AP selected ND as no. 1

Bama was selected by UPI (Coaches Poll) which was done before the bowl game.

lol

i think we need to throw out all natties won in the poll era.

Half of Notre Dame’s titles are from before they even accepted Bowl invites

in 1965, Bama was a consensus national champion with Michigan State.

bama's bear bryant era is starting to look less imppresive

1978 was another split decision b/t Bama and USC. lol

The championship was voted on prior to bowl games at that time.

Throw all of them out up until the BCS. Who has the most now?

bama shouldn't have made it last year in my view b/c Ohio State won an extra game over an undefeated Wisconsin team and won its conference while bama sat at home.

how can you be the best team in the country if you aren't the best team in a 14 team conference.
