It was a cocktail of a few things that culminated in the 2011 season and how that ended. At least from my point of view.
-The 2009 game with the Peterson INT overturned really exposed the perception that you always, and I mean always, received every favorable call. The SEC office is in Birmingham, LSU is the black sheep, the Tom Ritter effect, all of it chapped a lot of people no matter how much credibility you want to give it. The perception was there.
-Of course Nick Saban being our former coach made it feel more personal. But what REALLY extrapolated it was his desire and penchant for targeting all the top recruits in Louisiana and doing whatever it took to keep them from going to LSU. The barber. The bags. The cars. It pissed a lot of people off that Cam Robinson, Hootie Jones, Davonta Smith, et al wore crimson instead of purple and gold.
-The 2011 season. That was honestly one of the best LSU teams of all time, and certainly the most physically dominant one I ever saw. We won the GOTC in Tuscaloosa. Then the mulligan after Bama didn’t even play in the SEC championship. That sucked so bad as an LSU fan to have to beat you twice when Bama only had to go 1-1.
These factors to me, are the biggest reasons for the personal hate and hope this helps you understand a little better.

Come on man, be honest with yourself and how you would feel if you once had the greatest coach of all time, and then he starts a dynasty somewhere else. Of course we have a little chip on our shoulder

Not retarded....I just don't feel jealousy the way some do I suppose and don't get it. As much as I dislike Auburn, if they beat our arse, I'll say they beat our arse with no excuses no buts. I remember beating LSU a few years back and it was always a but. But the refs this, but that, wait til you play Notre Dame, if Colt McCoy didn't get hurt. Yes, I understand some fans gave props but I remember and large number of LSU fans just NEVER could under any circumstances. I didn't understand why the hate was so vicious! I mean unprecedented vicious!!

As an ole Miss fan I can agree that Kiffin is a good coach and a master recruiter. He has maybe the best oc in nation and they just bought a very talented team. Doesn’t always translate to champs but we will see. Indiana proved anyone can win. Indiana is the greatest championship story in college football history

See....I can get down with this because at least you can admit it. All respect for that!! But I guess I was stupid enough to fall for the troll because at one point I remember thinking "These guys really think we just been lucky for 18 years". No matter how good we have been I've never made a statement like, "Were going to beat LSU arse for the foreseeable future". That way of thinking in the SEC is just unrealistic to me. No matter who you are.

I'm also not afraid or too blind to admit that Sabans defenses started to take a noticeable decline once Kirby Smart left. Nick is a master leader and was able to put the right pieces of the puzzle in the correct place at the correct time. I honesty think Kirbys departure was one of the biggest hits we took in the Bama coaching turnover.
I also don't think Nick Saban is the great DB developer that he has been made out to be. If you think back, I remember that DB play was our downfall in many games we lost even when we had superior talent. One of my biggest complaints is they don't look back for the ball. I can't tell you how many interceptions we have left on the field. He's still the greatest coach in my opinion. Can't argue with results.
My love for Bama and Saban has never kept me from being objective!

This just crossed my mind as I've been reading all of the posts and I see Bama fans give LSU their due (something I rarely see LSU fans do).
This is an easy one, we hate you more than you hate us and your program has clearly taken a step back while ours has improved. Theres nothing deep going on here.
But ya bama fans not named cajunbammer or captdalton are giving credit where its due and its fun talkin football with yall

Shite , as negative LSU fans are on TD, they don’t give LSU credit. So, dafuq you crying about? Much like OM fans, LSU fans knew what was coming. That shite hurt. We acknowledge the greatness …you’re just holding on to negative ones that hurt your weak arse feelings.

I said the LSU Bama teams where two of best of all time and it’s ridiculous one of them will not be not be champions. We won SEC and you won Natty. Saban was definitely the goat or it was the bear.
Saban at Bama was a perfect match, I said you would win several nattys with him. I didn’t think he would stay long enough to win 5 or 6 but people mellow as they get older.

I agree....Man LSU fans are the best to party with. They showed so much love the last time I went to Tiger Stadium.. I ate more gumbo, jambalaya, and fried alligator than I ever had in my life. Hell....even your women were more ahhh giving. Had me second guessing if I made the right decision graduating from Bama....lol. I made the right decision though instead of 5.5 years for a bachelors it would have taken me 7 years to graduate from LSU if at all. Would have been too many distractions for me.
