There is the other rub. Unfortunately we live in a very litigious society and Nebraska would have a fairly legitimate gripe for getting screwed over. Warren knows this and despite the want-to, he's already set a poor precedence. I hope I'm wrong.

The SEC isn't allowing non-conference games, either.

This is a really good chance for one of the teams to have a come out In favor of playing the game. Gives you good publicity in what was otherwise an unlikely chance of happening. Inversely the other team is forced to be the bad guy that makes it not happen.

Supposedly the SEC ok’ed us if it helps our resume. I still find it hard to believe they would do that for just us though

"You have to look at how the BYU-Coastal thing came together. BYU was open, and Coastal's game vs. Liberty was canceled. You have to have a perfect scenario and a willing opponent. We did look at some other options. We had dialogue with the SEC about that, and if it were helpful to our resume and were a worthy and willing opponent, we would have received clearance from Commissioner Sankey. They had to be a willing opponent coming to Kyle Field."

They are not doing it just for Aggies. It is for the whole conference. I believe every other AD would give their blessing. It is the greatness of the SEC!!

Feels like Ohio State needs it waaay more than A&M. They should insist on it being played in Texas. Assuming that both conferences will let the game happen anyway

So BYU was willing to to put their season on the line and travel across the country on two days notice but Ohio State got the call on a Sunday and said there isn't enough time to get the game ready?

Absolutely. So many totally uninformed posters. JFC. As if A&M would reach out to OSU and THEN ask the SEC office if it can be played. Good grief.

No way this happens. The NCAA could very likely be in this same type of scenario again next year (God I hope not), and this would set a precedent that games could just be mix-matched based on the rankings at the end of the year. If you do it now, you would be setting a precedent and possibly having other teams pushing for the same thing happen again next year.

Osu’s message board is eleven warriors. They just posted an article that makes it look like Jimbo does not want to play.

You would have thought our AD and Jimbo would have discussed and agreed BEFORE the AD contacted OSU. Good laws.

Thought the SEC said that teams cannot schedule others teams not on their schedule to take the place of other teams? Did this rule change?

Sankley said he’d allow it if it helped our case.

It’s a new rule called “The grow a pair” rule.
