You shouldn’t be skeptical, you know he can handle a game winning drive.

Conner Weigman
I forgot about that kid. He is talented. Could be a nice setup for the Ags in the future
If the season goes south, I suspect we'll see Weigman before the end of the year. I don't think King will ever see the field again, barring injury to Johnson.

Higher floor, lower ceiling. Has displayed good football instincts. He is what this team needs right now.

We are 4-0 no doubt if he starts against App State, but you can't think about that now.

I didn't realize he was a run stopper as well.

11 for 21 for 115 yards and a throw it up an pray TD finishing with a 61 QBR and somehow ridiculous win???

That is Max Johnson..
But a win is a win...

Well sh*t if Muhammad III doesn’t slow down and mistime his jump, that looked like a perfect deep throw leading him to pay dirt.

So that’s like another 60 yards and a TD right there. The offense left a lot of yards on the field.

So there is plenty that they are going to need to clean up by this weekend.

Moose also got a penalty for a chop block on Evan Stewart's long play.

He single-handedly killed a couple of our drives.

I hate to be that guy, but every season on every team the unknown new recruit 3rd string QB is the best QB on the team. Until he sees the field. And then everyone pretends not to realize it's the same hype every year, rinse and repeat with next year's recruit who is definitely better than everyone.

And by the way, people in the know at LSU were saying the same things about Max as a freshman. But then he had to play, and fantasy met reality.

You may end up being right. But Weigman is the highest rated, and most sought after, QB we've gotten on campus in a very long time. Maybe ever.

He certainly could end up being a disappointment, but you don't bring in a guy like that without expectations that he'll start and be able to play well within a couple years of getting on campus.

Good kid with a lot of heart. Winning attitude. Takes too long to get through progressions, has a slow release and we don’t have the line to give him that kind of time. Add in an offensive philosophy from 1998 and it's not good. It’s what they call bad in fact.

I think you’re probably right, but it’s not because the man doesn’t have the physical tools needed. I think he’s broken mentally. I think the coach should have had him more prepared.

I posted my take on Johnson. I don’t think he really got a fair shot at LSU. Had to follow JB with a depleted team, bad coaching as a freshman. Yet he had good games. he is still only a true junior. As someone mentioned earlier, the Aggie receivers left about 120 yards of passing offense on the field with mistakes. There could have easily been three more scores. He is accurate on short and midrange passes...damn close on the long ball. His placements on the sideline and end zone were oh so close to being inbounds. And zero interceptions or fumbles in a close game like Arkansas, is huge. If A&M O line can protect him, I don’t think he has gone anywhere close to his potential.

He is who we thought he was.

He's tough, poised, is a good leader, & can deliver the ball with some accuracy. Plus he can move a little better than expected. But he still holds on to the ball too long, misses wide-open receivers (doesn't find them and pull the trigger), and isn't going to lead anyone to a SEC championship without being absolutely stacked around him.

Always seemed like a decent game manager, but not going to win you games. Wouldnt lose them either. Just curious on your thoughts?

Are you a dumbass?

A left-handed Mond who's willing to go down field more often. That sounds about right.
