He's exactly what I thought he was.....a 50% passer that doesn't throw picks. That might get you past Miami and Arky, but it'll never win the West.

Yep. Correct on all points. Game manager type. Reminds me of the string of Bama game managers a few years back.

He’s more accurate than his numbers say right now

I was dreading him (though needed to switch from King). Very pleased so far- he's taking less sacks than I thought (and making accurate "desperation" passes). He is very accurate and really good improvising in the open field and knowing when to tuck and run.

When Jimbo has a good OL, RBs, and Receivers (which we have in the que but still learning and developing) all we need is a manager- and Johnson is I think a little more than that.

So...... key is for OL to keep developing and our young receivers (with amazaing talent) to keep learning. Losing Ainias Smith is a killer- for Max and for all Aggies.

11 for 21 for 115 yards and a throw it up an pray TD finishing with a 61 QBR and somehow ridiculous win???

That is Max Johnson..
But a win is a win...

To be fair, it was 151 yards and he lost a 60 yard TD when one of our WRs decided to pull up on a route where he was wide the hell open for a TD.

Still not great numbers but he was better than the stats show.

Yeah, sometimes those incompletions and even picks are blamed on the QB when it was the receiver's fault. Max dropped what would have been a perfect dime for a TD had Moose not inexplicably pulled up for a few steps.

Moose also got a penalty for a chop block on Evan Stewart's long play.

He single-handedly killed a couple of our drives. ?

Moose dropped a touchdown pass, called for a chop block, called for a block in the back, and was also called for illegal procedure. His performance was dreadful.

I think he was the right call for miami, but if Haynes is over whatever the hell mental fog app state was, we need him back asap.

That may be the case for a lot teams and QBs, and you are probably right. That said, this is the first time I’ve felt this way about the new QBs under Jimbo while at A&M. When it came to Haynes it was about athleticism and potential, the hype around Connor just seems different. Who knows though
