Why?
The answer … because our traditions were forged by men who attended a military college in 1876–long before women enrolled.
Much of what lingers in Aggieland is an homage to those Ags.
But you know that.
There is not a single thing about t.u. that makes me “sincerely” curious.
BTHO t.u.

You seriously went to AI and requested it to make this picture and think it’s a burn on A&M and not a complete and utter self burn? Wtf is wrong with you weirdos

100% the OP's browser history is full of sick and perverted stuff. Potentially a pedophile, as well.

OK, your answer, including the phrase “our traditions were forged by men” is both patriotic and masculine… my respect to all of y’all’s aggy military veterans…
That said, I’m still a little confused… I have some remaining cognitive dissonance here…
How does this…
represent this??
A few more details would make y’all’s aggy thought processes more clear…

Trash talk from a 2 loss team? Pretty weak.

Sorry, I’m not looking to derail the good-natured banter but wanted to provide some background on TAMU’s evolution as a truly coeducational university. This is probably best reflected through the student body. As of the 2024 fall semester, the total enrollment was over 79,000 students, with approximately 61,442 undergraduates and 17,672 graduate and professional students. Female students make up about 46.9% of the student body, while male students constitute the majority at 53.1%.
Speaking as an “Old Ag” who has followed Aggie athletics since the late ‘60s and served on the TAMU faculty from 2012-2019, our female students have greatly enhanced all aspects of Aggieland, including the vaunted 12th Man spirit. Just as with the Cheer Team posted here, the Aggie Dance team often performs at events. LINK More broadly, A&M’s women’s athletic teams have thrived.
Yes, we have a lot of traditions, perhaps chief among them the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band. As Aggies like to brag, we may get “outscored” in the game but we’ve never lost a halftime! Nothing has made me more proud of A&M’s growth as a university than to see a female cadet lead the band.

OK, as long as y’all will accept being just a little bit weird, I’ll stop asking the Curious George questions, because I’ve got some actual work to do around my place today…
Here’s to a fun football game, with hopefully no injuries, on Friday!

It doesn’t.
Nobody but you said the hand signals represent Iwo Jima.
You drew the false equivalency.
Back in the day … Upperclassmen cadets ordered fish Yell Leaders to use (comically) exaggerated arm signals, so fans in the stands knew which yell was next during games prior to the existence of PA systems and the like.
Practical, harmless hazing. Intentionally ridiculous.
That’s it.

However, being an elected position, for the last several decades, these elections have been dominated by the Corps of Cadets, who haven't seen fit to find a female candidate they can support. It will happen, eventually.
When aggy finally gets embarrassed enough, I have previously heard them talk of an aggy women’s cheer team…
But even if that is true, this leads to another mystery…
Why does the aggy boy cheer team not allow the ladies’ cheer team to cheer with them on football game day? It seems like they could do those happy hands twirly dance routines all together??
Is the aggy boy cheer team jealous of the cheer ladies? Are the aggy boy only old male turditions too powerful to let the ladies cheer out front too?
I’m sincerely curious! Could an actual aggy grad please explain??
Because we have yell leaders and do yells, we don't have a gymnastics squad doing stunts on the sideline, as that would be redundant.
We do have a dance team the performs at basketball, and carries the flags out for the team entrance, but haven't found a way to really get them on the field for football (they would look kind of silly gyratinjg to "Noble Men of Kyle" and "Strategic Air Command," which is why we have a different band that plays for basketball).

Thanks for taking the time to help me understand y'all a little better... y'all's aggy traditions are pretty complicated for the outside world to be decipher, ha...

I get that.
But they aren’t intended for the outside world to decipher; they’re for Ags.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Like clockwork…lmao…little rich gay high school boi chirping whenever any “gay” word is mentioned. I’m a fourth generation rancher, Aggie graduate. I don’t have anything more in common with the kids doing Draggieland than I do with a NIL paid mercenary football player. They are just kids expressing themselves, discovering life and having fun. I have never been to a Draggieland show, but I have heard they are highly entertaining. I need to put that show on my bucket list. The football programs all across the SEC have harmed and sexually assaulted way way more people than any drag show players. They aren’t hurting anyone. Monsuta, the little high school cork sucker, seems to a problem with the largest university in the SEC having an open, accepting campus. Bigot.

Went to the game this weekend.
At halftime, after the FTAB performed, they had a large group of cadets get sworn in as commissioned officers. I assumed it was only Seniors (being Senior Day) but it still looked like 1/4-1/3 of the entire corps ranks.
A yell leader was there as well. He stood out in a sea of cadets in midnights.

It's crazy, as my parents were both Texas grads, I've known about aggy since childhood, but to this day (I'm now a new grandpa) I'm still learning new stuff about y'all's mysterious, complicated traditions and culture. Thanks for helping me to understand y'all a little more.
I do have one more question. I've seen a number of y'all's "two percenters" and others on TexAgs (who may have caught too much shite from their friends) complain that y'all's current yell leaders have now gotten way too cringe, feminine, and prancy, and argue that it's time to retire y'all's male yell leaders, and replace them with your female cheerleaders (or a co-ed cheer team) on game day national football TV.
Is the fact that y'all are now playing Horn again, and catching shite from all of your Horn friends again, accelerating an internal ag push for y'all to field a female or coed football game day cheer team? Will y'all's "red arse ags" (isn't that what y'all call your old school ags?) ever relent?
