LT Overton (DE), is a former 5 star that chose A&M over OU, Bama, UGA and Tennessee

His brother is a OT and is transferring with him. Their dad played at OU so that’s the rumored destination

Finishing 2nd in a kid’s recruitment has never been more important than now.

If there's gonna be a thread on every A&M portal entry can we at least be accurate?

He wasn't A&Ms top recruit in '22 and his brother is a DL who will never play anywhere unless he decides to transfer to a D2.

I come here to get up-to-the-minute reports on each Aggie player and their portal thoughts. The obsession is breathtaking.

Is he a backup? If not, why would he leave?

lol - the best source of up to date A&M news is LSU “fans”.

They have no rival, though.

Im going to count it as a melt. They are literally saying they will be making threads for every A&M transfer. Sad.

It’s hilarious seeing the Aggys puff their chest when these guys signed and how effed the SEC was, only to see most of them leave.

While Overton was a crazy-high rated recruit in the '22 class, he was not their top recruit. Walter Nolen was the top recruit in the 22 aTm class. Overton was actually the 5th highest rated recruit in that aTm class (per 24/7).

While he hasnt had stellar stats here (only 6 solo tackles this year and 12 solo with 1 sack last year), the dude has talent. I dont think Durkin utilitzed him as well as he could and someone is going to get a good player wherever he transfers to. There were multiple times where he had Overton and Diggs (another DE for us) out in pass coverage and weird stuff like that.

Heard a coach (might have been Kirby) talk about how much emphasis they put on recruiting a kid to the end now, even if they are relatively sure they won't get him, just to make sure they have a leg up in case the kid portals and is getting recruited again.

Makes sense.
