You see the "Texas has decided the SEC finally deserves us" thread? It's almost a clever way of saying "if you can't beat em, join em" while glossing over that messy little "can't beat em" part.

Texas would be in the West if they came into the SEC, not the East with Georgia.

Honestly had a polar opposite experience this weekend. I’ve been to UF/Auburn/Bama/UGA/Arkansas/Tenn and I’d rank UT up there with the most hospitable guests. UF was raunchy, the worst by far. frick UF.

That sums up the entire state. It's the "everything's bigger and better in Texas" mentality.
That said, Texas is a premier public university and they have a rich tradition in sports.
