She's the first to bring home the gold in the 800 M in 58 years.

19 years old and no one is close to her, first Gold for the US since 1968. She put up a 1:55 and is within striking distance of taking down one of the oldest Track records around of 1:53 set by a roided up Eastern Block runner in 1983. Will also likely run the 4x400 with a great chance for a 2nd Gold.

Truly an amazing athlete.

Yes. Pretty remarkable, you agree?

What kind of loser downvotes stuff like this?

I can see it with crap like USWNT or some other prima donna type. She’s a 19 year old daughter of South Sudan immigrants. Seems to always be upbeat.

What’s to hate on here?

Why do you think dumb southerners would downvote this after seeing the photo?

Saw her interviewed after the prelims. She is a very impressive person, I'm happy for her success.

The downvoting on this site is pretty strange. I remember once time just adding a slight addition to a post about the 90s LSU Texas A&M games . . no smack talk . . .not edge . . . just saying that it was Rodney Thomas who had that long TD run and not Greg Hill.

14 downvotes. Who gets that triggered over nothing?

I have to agree with you on this one Ag. There is absolutely nothing not to like about her. I can only assume the downvotes are auto-downvotes for anything to do with Aggies.

It was actually Leland McElroy. I was there in Tiger Stadium that night and would’ve downvoted you too ;-)

You felt the need to hijack this thread with some white girl?

Ring on the far left is the hardest one to get. You don’t just win one event or season to get that baby.

Like seeing it when an athlete is there long enough to get one.

I felt the need to promote another SEC track star who’s competing today.

While we’re at it ... congrats to these SEC tracksters as well:

Jasmine Camacho-Quinn - Kentucky (gold)
Mondo Duplantis - LSU (gold)
Keni Harrison - Kentucky (silver)
Fred Kerley - Texas A&M (silver)
Taylor Manson - Florida (bronze)
Brittney Reese - Ole Miss (silver)
Vernon Norwood - LSU (bronze)
