Ive been saying it for a while that if we could go into the A&M game at 3-2 we could have a serious shot at gaining some momentum and getting to a bowl this year.
We have home games the next 2 weeks vs A&M and Auburn. Very encouraged by our fight tonite but we still gotta clean up the turnovers. Defense keeps improving which is great to see.

LSU will show up next week. Book it. Will still be a pretty good game, though.

We're fine. Slow start combined with some bad breaks. Calmed down and dominated UK in the 2nd half 31-0.
Yep, out-gained them 240-70 after halftime...
I wasn't happy with the lack of intensity throughout the team and poor execution. UK did what they should've been expected to do, which is come out fired up and played with aggression.
And that's what I expected the Gamecocks to do as well, regardless of the fact that they were on the road. They are #6 in the nation and have some goals on the table they set for themselves that doesn't allow for these kind of performances...
Of course, I was mostly pulling my hair out while the first half was progressing....after the game, I've calmed down a bit. Ultimately our defense ending up raging like I expected it to do, and while our offense didn't put up the offensive numbers I was expecting (esp. passing yardage), overall it was pretty efficient and Marcus looked like the Marcus of old in 2nd half...
So overall I didn't like the inconsistency of the game and lack of focus, but know that it's not how our team normally play like, and they should do better next week...

Yeah I left out A&M but so far they've been pretty decent. Florida loss doesn't look that bad at this point.

Glad you boys are in the club.
Anybody who spanks Arky is my favorite team of the week.

Very pleased.
The physicality of the OM defense, for the majority of the game, made me feel warm inside.

Even though we lost I was very pleased at our teams effort. No matter how many mistakes we made we came right back and hit Bama in the mouth. And I was impressed with how physical we were as well. We were hitting Bama hard all night.

quote:this is true. not ready to light the match just yet this evening. it's one game against a really good sec qb with some very good young recievers. i think our team was looking ahead just a little bit. I really like our defense alot going forward. Gonna scratch this one off the board and move on for now.
Georgia: I assume their fans aren't pleased. Dumpster fire of a defense today.

We stunk. Thank you Amari Cooper. Nobody else showed up.
Milliner showed up. But yeah, lackluster overall.

Alabama left way too many drives unfinished. They uncharacteristically put the ball on the ground too often and AJ should have had pick he got away with...
Don't know what the Vegas line was, but I doubt they covered...
Plus Ole Miss pummeled the Tide physically and the Tide left the game with a LOT of injured boys in Crimson...
Not the best night overall.....

I thought the hurry up shite might cause us some problems, but the story for Ole Miss IMO was their defense. I'm blaming our offense to some extent, but they played hard and were surprisingly tough and physical.
Not ready to say Freeze has them there yet, they need to beat a good team first, but it seems like things are moving in the right direction (compared to the team that just quit so often last year).

I'm more displeased with the damn turnovers and moves we did to shoot ourselves in the foot on a couple drives. Tennessee moved the ball on us better than I thought they'd be able to but our miscues definitely put the defense in some tough spots. Us coughing the ball up like we did made the game a helluva lot closer than it should have been.

I thought Alabama played solidly and kept things vanilla on both sides of the ball.
I saw like 5 different offensive sets and only two really dominated the game. The two TE set and 3 WR set were used mostly with the same personnel. Its pretty much the same thing you saw against Western Kentucky. Ole Miss also played defense similar to what Western Kentucky did. They loaded the box and sold out against run when Alabama was in two TE sets.
Alabama had their best success when they were in 3 WR sets on 1st and 2nd downs because they had Ole Miss spread out a little more.
Still tough game with the injuires and Bama should be looking forward to the off week.
