re: After digesting the day's events, a Kiffin suspension is almost a certainty at this point.

LSU has to be dealt with. They are the new rogue program of the modern era. Like SMU and Miami of the 80s. The leaders and politicians need to stop listening to and being influenced by their win at all cost fans. They are feeding off of the madness that is swamp logic. To save themselves, they should admit that they are teetering on LOIC and it is largely fan/donor pressure induced. Apologize to the SEC , Sankey, and the other member Presidents and graciously accept whatever punishment the SEC doles out while promising to be a better representative of the conference.

LOIC claim
Is it not valid? Given everything that's transpired at LSU over the last ~12 months, most egregiously rehiring Will Wade, would you say things are under control at LSU? And if so, who's truly calling the shots?

Did NC State LOIC in hiring Wade?

Probably a suspension. Serves 2 purposes but it- first a foremost- protects the joint venture between OM and LSU and SEC and the Mouse- a storyline that will mean mega millions for each of those parties.
We’re talking about merch sales and a game that has a storyline that will even grab people who don’t traditionally watch college football.
We all know OM has some stupid fans. Add College Gameday (early in the Grove) plus a night game plus alcohol all morning and afternoon and I to Gametime plus the return of Lane Kiffin.
What if Lane Kiffin just didn’t show up because he couldn’t?

I can promise you I would be on whatever schools side ,no matter who it was. I think this shot is dropped but I would be against it if it was ole miss or alabama

Competitive disadvantage to LSU in the short term but this is about money and protecting value

What did he do to warrant a suspension?

Rehiring another P4 coach is egregious? I swear some of yall live in an alternate reality. This is going to get laughed out of court.

Take it to court and cripple the SEC. If the SEC had any integrity Chambliss would be on a practice squad in NFL and Bama wouldn't have played ineligible basketball player last year.
Selective rule enforcement. Making up rules to retroactively address an issue.
Make eligibility bases on age. 17.5 to 22.5 years. Simple solution.

Kiffin when asked by a reporter if those pro players might still get on the roster said "stay tuned".

No Sankey has 15 other schools that are very, very mad. Lane mocked them and now they are mad. Rarely have I ever seen the entire conference hate a coach, and it is not for on the field results(I mean...0 SEC titles).
You poke a bull, you get the horns.

I would never ever support the SEC kicking out a member, ever. Much less an OG member that goes back to 1933.

And they'll be told to frick off and a suit to have a court find the SEC is in material breach for arbitrary and capricious conduct would be filed immediately.

The penultimate Dendunuthin.....
CFB either has eligibility requirements or it doesn't. There is either some governance or there isn't. If there is neither then thats fine, let the chips fall where they may....if the goal is to have either or both then at some point leaders have to comply and stop debating the issue of eligibility. Does anyone doubt that LSU played at least the one guy who isn't hurt if the SEC had not taken the stand it took with the vote? Of course they would have. They would have been remiss to not do so if it helped their cause.

We didn't roster the players

Sankey doesn't realize the absurd pile of lawsuits that will follow if he reprimands LSU and didn't with Bama and their pro basketball player nonsense. He's peacocking. It would be a horrible tangled mess to expel LSU. There would be lawsuits all over, and not just from LSU.

How is that out of control?
Very controlled decisions. People just didn’t like them.

For what exactly? LSU was told not to roster certain players. They did not roster those players. They broke zero rules.
The "intent" was to at least break a long (90 year) understanding that athletes who had more than a flirtation with a professional league in one sport could not return and compete in that sport at the collegiate level. Had they done it the rest of the league would have followed suit. That very well could have wound up with no one who had done so being eligible for the CFP and would have set the conference back significantly when it is already losing ground to the BIG10. When you are a agent of change, and Kiffen is that if nothing else, there is always going to be some pushback...always. It is naive to expect otherwise.
The SECs brand is substantially bigger that LSUs or only single program. That brand is comprised of a facade of amateur athletic competition. Lane Kiffin challenged that facade and has, in the opinion of the SEC, blemished the conference and done irreparable harm...in the same way Texas Tech did with the BIG12 when they intended to roster a degenerate gambler.
I don't get the LSU fan base's feigned incredulity. It is what you paid for. Kiffin has a far longer and documented past as an agent of change than he does as a succesful football coach....its what he does, every where he goes...he reaks havoc. It is what he has always done and he will never change because he is convinced he is bigger than the game....and he may well be....but when the shite hits the fan because you slung the shite at the fan you look like a fool when you whine about being covered in shite.
