I would bet money he had enough for a trafficking charge and the TPD lowered the amount so it wouldn’t “ruin a young man’s future”

Yep, if it was one of us.. we wouldn’t see the light of day.
They offer pleas and pretrial diversions literally all the time in cases like these, particularly for people who have never been in trouble before.

I knew people at Bama who got caught with a lot of weed and they had to go through the hoops and serve their punishment, but they weren't expelled from school. What special treatment is Holloway getting?
Define "a lot."
Per Alabama state law regarding trafficking: Alabama Marijuana Laws
quote:
For amounts between one kilo (2.2 pounds) and 100 lbs., the minimum sentence is three years, along with a mandatory $25,000 fine
Convenient that he only had 2.1 pounds. I'm sure TPD made sure he was under that 2.2 pound limit.

CBS is currently in the works to bring audiences CSI: Tuscaloosa

Do you know someone who had enough weed that was ‘basically’ trafficking that got plea/diversion that wasn’t:
Influential
Rich
Athletes
Just a random citizen? I know they would be expelled at the least.

This was the correct decision and this board can't STAND it. The guy had never been in trouble before.

Not really a legit "FIFY." If he had never been caught before, that doesn't change the fact that he'd never been in trouble before.

Just like it wasn't "a legit" kilo he was caught with. But we all know the truth.

But hey, at least he didn't kill anyone.
Henry Ruggs was unfortunate to be in the NFL, because he would have been given 20 hours of community service and would be playing for Bama. A felony is nothing for Alabama. There are limits; players are only allowed to kill two people; anything more, and there might be a suspension.

That's true. Everyone involved in that situation is sitting in jail and not on the team.

Jails are overcrowded. No one's trying to send a first time, nonviolent drug offender to jail. This is pretty common everywhere, not just in Alabama.

We all know that Bama fans would allow Holloway to rape their wife and kids if it meant a Natty in basketball and/or a win over Florida. It would be just "taking one for the team", then said fans could use the word "we" when referring to Alabama sports. If that were me, I would get 10 years and a $15K fine. But then again, I did not win the genetic lottery and play for someone's favorit eteam.

Every Alabama NIL deal comes with one of these:

Its literally school policy to suspend a student indefinitely in a situation like this until a hearing is conducted to determine whether or not a student can be allowed back. Generally if they have never been in trouble before, and complete all of the steps associated with their punishment/legal situation, then they will be allowed to come back to the university.
This is exactly what happened to Holloway. This is also the process that students that aren't star athletes go through. Not sure why this is so hard to understand. You absolutely wouldn't get 10 years for possession of 2 lbs of weed, you fricking dipshit.

Legalize cannabis at the federal level and we never have to hear about bullshite like this again.
Legalize, regulate sharply and tax it.

It's a first time, nonviolent, drug offense. You will have a hard time finding young people who weren't treated exactly like this for a first time, nonviolent, drug offense.
