These are the only guys we know about. The list of candidates would probably make a pandemic line look short.

Yeah, we probably won't know more until the NFL season winds down.

Sounds similar to consensus opinions when Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkisian were hired.

It's pretty much the same with every hire around here. People just wanna pile on and not let anything play out.

No other CFB program can pull College and NFL Head coaches for their staff like Alabama.
It's like Alabama is universally seen as another level in the entire industry.
Some programs get rejected for their HC spot while Bama is fielding calls from Head Coaches. Much like recruiting, Alabama is just selecting coaches at this point.

I've heard Scott Linehan is available

Bill O'Brien would be a cancer. His ego is too big and doesn't have the humility to change if necessary.

By all accounts, players hate him. I can’t imagine Saban would want to bring that into the program.

Bill is not going to put up with getting yelled at by Saban. That’s not gonna happen.

If BoB is cancer, Gase is Downs Syndrome. I’ve watched him as a head coach for the last 7 years in the NFL and nothing outside of a good season with Peyton Manning a decade ago makes me think he’s a great coach.

BoB might be an arse and a terrible GM, but the dude has at least shown the ability to coach at the college and NFL levels.

For the record, I don’t think either will end up in Tuscaloosa, but if you’re forced to choose between the two, it’s not even remotely close.

We came close to making Enos the OC - I don’t think that would have worked well

It's showing me that Saban is starting to lose his edge a little bit. Terrible choices.

So was Kiffin.

So was Locksley.

So was Sark.

I mean, people blasted Saban when he hired Sark. It was considered a bad hire. Look how it turned out. Saban has a plan for what he does and why he does it.

The only way I see him changing is if he realizes his name is toxic in the NFL. BoB isn't terrible at play calling. It was everything else.

I still think it’s a giant “if” for Gase or O’Brien, but if either did end up in Tuscaloosa, I don’t think they would be around long enough for egos or attitudes to be an issue. I assume it would be a stint similar to Daboll, a la 2017.

I don't see the Gase thing at all.

The BoB thing only makes sense if he has decided he wants to get back into college coaching. He knows that he still has some solid cred from the work he did at Penn State, that being the OC at Alabama for 2 years means he would have great offenses and pretty quickly have his name out there again for big jobs in college.

That would make sense.

With how hard he politicked for total roster control with the Texans I am guessing being a head guy in college is pretty attractive for O Brien since no NFL franchise is giving him roster control again. I would be interested to see how he adapted his offense back to college but he would probably do very well

LOLOLOLOL

BoB has already worked for his daddy now he is looking to go work for Uncle Nick. The BoB thing makes some sense to me if he wants to go back into college coaching for the rest of his career. I dunno if it's a great fit or whatever, but it makes sense.

The Adam Gase thing feels like a "he worked for Saban before and he's a NFL guy and now he's available so he has to be a candidate".
