Got a chuckle at Stoops on top.

This has to be incredibly frustrating for Georgia fans at some level.

What do all over the coaches have in common sans 1 of them?

Pinkel 7.95 / 8.5 @ Mizzou
Not bad considering where Mizzou was sitting just before he arrived in Columbia.

I figured HBC at 9.13 in his years at Duke,UF,and SCAR.
Pretty solid with a 5 win, a 6 win, and several 7 win seasons at Duke and SCAR. Also did not play as many games when he was at UF.

This is why he has to go.

This also makes it hard to justify firing him

I would think it would absolutely justify it.
He is in an elite class of coaches who have won games and won titles. He has not done both.

Dammit Stoops I should've known to be afraid of you
damned if you do damned if you don't with Richt

ADs are paid to make the hard decision.
Jay Jacobs got killed publically in the media for firing a coach two seasons removed from a BCS title...but that was what he is paid to do.

You can't fire a coach that wins 10 games a year without them doing something Petrino-esque to warrant it. No one wants to step into that situation afterwards.

Said coach went 8-5, 14-0, 8-5, 3-9.
Mark Richt has had consistent success at UGA.

Any UGA fan want to trade the last five years with AU?
You get 2 SEC titles, a BCS title, a Chik Fil A Bowl and an Outback bowl win...only one losing season.

What a stupid thing for an AD to base a decision on
Posted on 3/27/14 at 2:30 pm to Crowknowsbest
Why? Our AD made a change from Tubs...he had been there 10 years but had reached his peak.
Do you think CMR has reached his peak?

Exactly.
I believe Mark Richt has underachieved significantly at Georgia but there is no way an AD can fire Richt at this present moment unless he pulled a Bobby Petrino tonight.

Hard to do unless he does something(which he wont) or has a bad season, or two in a row.
With current status quo he'll either retire(forced or not) or be given another position to aid in retirement

Tommy Tuberville also had two losing seasons and only two 10-win seasons. He averaged right around 7 or 8 wins a year, which was enough when his #1 rival was averaging 6 wins.
