Texas has a shiny brand new arena and Bama plays in a 50+ year old glorified airplane hanger.

It is brand new but just as empty as Coleman when the team is fair to middling.

Both schools BB will always be the second sport.

Texas has no National Championship and 3 Final Fours.

Arkansas has a National Championship and 6 Final Fours

Texas is a step down from Arkansas.

Tale of the Tape:

(only bothering with regular season titles)

Texas:

3 Final Fours, 19 SWC titles, 3 Big 12 titles.

Alabama:

0 Final Fours, 11 SEC titles

Arizona:

1 National Title, 4 Final Fours, 11 Pre-Pac titles, 17 Pac 10/12 Titles.

Arkansas:

1 National Title, 6 Final Fours, 22 SWC titles, 2 SEC titles.

Texas only has a realistic shot at Alabama's coach. Their program is historically and currently inferior to Arizona and Arkansas.

Arena Capacity:

Texas: 11k

Alabama: 15.5k

Arizona: 14.7k

Arkansas 19.4k

There is no rational reason for a bball coach to leave Arkansas for Texas

I thought Michigan and LSU fans were delusional, man they have nothing on the Longhorns. They seriously think they can get Musselman, Oats, or Lloyd.

The 2 posts throwing out “wish lists” & the replies saying “not realistic”?

Don’t be a clown, besides everyone knows who Texas is getting.

Agreed on Muss

NIL isn't a factor for really anyone in top 15 or so. They can all afford to pay top talent top money. You're talking 2 or 3 players a year getting 7 figures, not an entire team. It's all about buyouts for coaches these days. And facilities. The egos on guys like Muss demand big, loud arenas.

Arkansas basketball had the highest winning percentage from 1978 to 1995. But Nolan had his melt on tv and then sued the school. After that the program was nuked and neglected by a university that didn't give the credit that the basketball program deserved.

Now with a better AD, the emphasis isn't on just football but on basketball and basketball as well. If Muss can go to final fours, basketball will no longer be treated as inferior to football.

Bigger salary.
Superior resources.
More NIL money.
Live in a better town.
Superior academic school to sell to parents.

No. The Hunt family is buying players. The entire team is on NIL

Not even close.

Parents don't care about that when 1 and dones will do 1 semester in reality. Within Arkansas, if you're a good player, a that visibility is all you need to land a good job with a degree.

Being cautious on current costs for the new arena and not investing are two different things.

But there sure are a lot of jobs some of y’all are convinced Oats is going to leave for.

Unless they move the UT campus to San Diego zero chance Muss goes there.
