The horns are begging the SEC to bail them out of their miserable situation.
Maybe we end up in the SEC, maybe not. All I know is that Texas is leaving the Big 12 and will have no problem landing on their feet wherever they end up.
Meanwhile, the aggie melt of "but mommy and daddy promised we'd never see the bullies again" is illuminating the sentiment that you guys have always been crybabies and perceived as such in the state of Texas.
While I would like to see Texas and Texas A&M play again, I can't say I've missed having you cultish weirdos around very much.
As Will Muschamp famously said "Have you every been to college station? The first time you go you'll want it to be your last"

Aggie has a better program now.
For maybe the first time ever, they would face Texas on an equal field.
And they can make fun of the beggar university who now has to plead to join the cool club.
This should be a great moment for them after hearing all the speculation.
Ten years ago all of this would have been enough for Aggies. But frankly we have grown used to the attention and we are not looking forward to going back to the old shadow even if it’s brighter and gold plated.
Eventually playing them and beating them during the Jimbo era will be enough to smooth nerves but today it is still raw that they can bend the knee and act like it’s a victory for themselves. Only one program in our state can get away with that kind of bullshite.

This is exactly where Aggies should be shaping the narrative.
All of that stuff you quoted, and yet, if the reports are real, your university is the one who wants in.
Aggies should be making fun of your arse right now instead of freaking out.

We'll listen to anybody that's interested. Obviously the SEC would make most sense because it probably stands the best chance to make the most money while leaving every other conference behind. That's why the SEC's interested.
But if we don't end up in the SEC - we'll be just fine. Y'all act like Texas is begging when in reality they're just trying to find the best landing spot. They're probably very willing to get out of the Big 12 at least, but Texas was always going to be capable of that whenever they wanted.

That is what is being reported. Sorry if it hurts.
Imagine the amount of pride the powers that be had to swallow in order to come begging the SEC, after all the talk back in 2010.
Fact is, you are now chasing Aggie success.

horns have approached the Big Ten two times in the last 10 years and the pac 12 once, they’ve been rejected all three times LOL

This move is about going to the SEC. It has nothing to do with Texas a&m other than the benefit of potentially renewing the annual football game.

Spot on!
The truth is that the longhorns would kill to be in the position you are.
Enjoy it and rub that crap in their face.

Sorry, squirt. Thanks for the melt though. The last 24 hours have been hysterical

It’s not what you think. The only reason I am more chill is because I probably know more about conference realignment than any Aggie that posts about that shite on web forums (I could have gotten a PHD in that shite it’s sad), and at least OU to the SEC has been written on the wall ever since the Big 12 didn’t expand all those years ago. Note some others like Shane are pretty chill too for probably the same reason. Eventually this shite is football and not 4D chess so you can’t get infinite chances to prove you should have been given any chance.
I had my own little private meltdown about it like four
-five years ago. I was hoping Texas would be arrogant and go independent for like five years before giving up, but this has been the end game for a while. Once the PAC really fell off there was no other decent option for them and the LHN deal was going to expire eventually. Unfortunately the current Texas administration is pretty savvy compared to who came before them and ESPN is sick of this playing out slowly so it’s done.
Frankly it’s why I always felt the $75 million was money well spent on Jimbo and never backed down on that. I knew after Sumlin lost those two 5* QBs that we would get one more shot at a coaching hire before the Big 12 GOR expired. I said that back then too. Jimbo was a hire that would have been impossible ten years earlier, and I knew he was our best last chance to put something real on the wall to permanently rebalance power in the state.
The jury is still out on that, but either way trust me when I say I was once a little bitch about this too. I am at peace now because my team had its best season since WW2 last year, and I feel like no matter what we have permanently raised our national profile the last ten years. But holy frick am I going to be nostalgic about the last ten years in the future when I am old and grey.
Proof I called this years ago:

It will definitely affect A&M's recruiting.
If a player in Texas wants to play in the SEC, but stay in Texas - are you going to play in College Station or Austin?

All of this. And just imagine if this comes to pass and Texas starts getting that arse beat repeatedly on the field. They were beaten on every level by your choice to change conferences.

If you don’t think it will affect LSU’s recruiting…
